New Day New Decade (Hiatus)

Sigh

I let out a small sigh as I jumped into my dorm from the ground after my graveyard shift at a warehouse nearby. I wasn't tired physically by any means, in fact, I was wide awake like always. I set my bag down next to my unused desk and changed into the school uniform right away. When I got done with that I grabbed the pouch in my bag filled with a liquid to keep me fed, and to keep me from going feral on my 'classmates'. So far no one questioned me, not even Aizawa who had been my classmate in the past. I went to his middle school for a year before I moved to the US, so it wasn't a surprise that he didn't remember me. 

I let out another sigh as I sat on my mostly unused bed and looked around my dark room. My eyes landed on the drawer attached to my nightstand and vivid memories of things I shouldn't have lived through played in my mind like a tape. Or the more dated term I guess would be movie. Unconsciously I opened the drawer and I drank from the pouch, I removed the fake bottom and looked at the small metal box containing my multitude of medals earned from war. 

I bit my lip hard as I closed up the drawer and pulled myself away from the trauma. I tasted as the sweet metallic flavoring of my own blood mixed in my mouth. So much had happened in the years I had walked the world and at this point, it all felt surreal. Time wasn't on my side and it had probably been that way since I was born. There was no other reason or explanation for this curse otherwise. 

Looking at the clock it was about time for everyone to start waking up and getting ready for the school day. I knew all the content for all my classes, almost nothing had changed so it wasn't hard to just jot down things from memory. With another sigh, I stood up and through the pouch into the bin before grabbing my bag once more. I was on cleaning duty this morning and I wasn't going to complain since it gave me something to do. 

I walked out of my room and locked the door behind me only to bump into Todoroki-kun seconds later. "Ah, Todoroki-kun what are you doing up so early? Did you go and train?" I asked slightly put off by how silent he had been. He was wearing his gym suit and I could smell a bit of sweat on him.

"Sorry if I startled you Midoryia-kun. I was on my way back from a small run, I have cleaning with you today so I went for a run to help make sure I was awake. I can join you in the classroom in a few minutes if that's alright." He said in his usual monotone voice. 

"Take your time Todoroki-kun, if you want you don't have to come and help. I can handle everything for this morning. Maybe you could wait and make sure everyone wakes up and gets to class on time today." I suggested hoping to be alone for a bit longer. 

"Midoryia, I am perfectly fine helping you out. I've noticed you do this a lot when you have cleaning duties. You don't need to work at it alone therefore I will see you in a few minutes. If it isn't too much of a hassle maybe we could walk there together?" Was he trying to befriend me? Had he noticed I had become more of a loner than him and decided why not? Then again he could just be curious. 

"Um, sure! I'll wait for you outside, like I said feel free to take your time." I told him with a small smile before walking past him. I was looking forward to just being able to do my own thing with a little more peace before the chaos ensued. I don't think I would be getting much of that today. 

I walked outside and I waited while looking at the sky, I could vaguely see the dorm start to come to life as lights turned on. After a couple more minutes Todoroki came out with a small head nod. "Sorry to keep you waiting." I noticed a faint pink on his cheeks like had run and hurried to get down here. It was something that could be easily missed since the sun had yet to fully rise and most eyes wouldn't see it. 

"No need, I stayed willingly so I didn't mind. Uh is there a reason you wanted me to wait for you?" I asked trying to break the ice and get it over with.
