So it begins

~??? POV~

I stared at him for the most of every hour. My eyes burned into him with anger. I hoped that if I stared hard enough maybe I would burn a hole through him, unfortunately for me though it didn't. So I planned what I would do to him instead, I planned how I would make the dumbass learn to mind his own damn business. This time I would handle it in one foul swoop.

~Izuku POV~

Sitting on my bed I let myself ruminate in my mind. Whoever was the cause of that person's death had to have a high place somewhere, most likely in the underworld. I had heard his voice before but my mind couldn't place where or who it belonged to.

Who could he have been talking to? Whoever it wasn't too impressionable so either they were young and brave or they had to have been in captivity for a while and wanted to attempt escape from whatever hell they were living.

If they could seemingly vanish that quickly, they had to reside nearby, have some sort of teleportation quirk, or have someone working under them with one. "Do I know of any potential crime bosses or anything associated with a crime family in that area?" I question out loud in a mumble.

"Know what in what area?" Denki's voice asked, I found him sitting next to me when I whipped my eyes open and looked around. "What has you thinking so hard that you didn't hear me come in?"

After a small debate in my head, I decided how best to answer his question. "Nothing you need to worry about. It's just something I'm working on for you."

A knock sounded at the door causing us both to look towards it before looking at each other and raising an eyebrow. "Guys! It's Kyoka can I come in?!"

"Yeah, come on in Kyoka," I shouted only for her to rush in before I could finish and shut and then lock the door. "Have you guys heard about the murder that happened this morning a few blocks from school?" She asked anxiously.

"What murder?" Denki asked looking at me after noticing the purple-haired girl looking at me. "Izu do you know what she's talking about?"

"Murder happens every day Den. But probably." I answered looking at the ground and putting my head into my hands as I looked down. "I probably could have stopped it if I had been fast enough."

"Okay, then am I safe to assume the weird voice in the phone call they are playing on the news is yours?"

"I mean you could." I breathed out. "Is there anything on the news that mentions who they think the killer is?"

"I mean some are speculating that it was the person who made the call, most seem to think it was a Guy named Overhaul since the death matches a lot of murders done by him." I snapped my head up as it clicked together. I had met the guy a few years ago at a pub and we had kicked it off. He got fairly drunk and told me about how stressed he'd been about this new gig he had been working and how he could make the family so much better thanks to a specimen brought in by the boss's daughter.

"God that dumbass." A said barely above a whisper.

"Izu, what's going on?" Denki asked with worry and confusion.

"I know who killed that person and it was on purpose to keep someone under their control. God damn it." I let out exasperatedly.

"What do you mean?" Kyoka asked rightfully concerned.

"It was Overhaul. I was a few blocks away when I started to be able to smell the blood. The sent was so strong, too strong to be a simple wound. So I was listening in to try and see if I could hear anything cause maybe someone did fall and was just really close. I heard him talking to someone and blaming them for the death." I'm just going to have to scope the area out. I was sure that this wouldn't be the last time they would try and run. However, I doubt these two would let me go willingly if they knew about my plans.

"Why were you out there in the first place Izuku?"

"Because I needed some fresh air and I wanted to get the hell out of this room."

"Izu... You need to stay here. It's not safe out there yet, the LOV is still running about. Next to that, I know you want to go out and look around some more but you shouldn't."

"Denki is right Izuku. People will recognize you and I don't think that would be something you can explain away to the teachers or anything."

"You're right. I do want to go out and scope the area out more." I paused and let my head fall. I would have to go about this without them knowing. I would have to wait till they went to class in the morning. Then I would go out again. "However, I'll stay here. Even if I did go, there wouldn't be anything I could do. It would be pointless." I doubt whoever it was will try to escape twice in two days so I'll go back periodically in the area and see what happens. With any luck, the person will be able to make it to the police station and be safe while I distract Overhaul.

Besides, in cases like this, it's best to ask for forgiveness, then beg for permission. So I began to do mental planning while figuring out what areas I would need to check out. "Well what are we gonna do now?"

"I don't know about you, but me and Kyoka are gonna go train a bit then eat some food. You should rest a bit more."

"I've done nothing but rest and watch almost every movie that's come out so far this year," I sighed as I threw myself back onto my bed.

"Well keep doing that then, this is your punishment for not letting RG heal you," Denki told me.

"He's right Izuku, you should have just let RG give you a kiss then you wouldn't be stuck in the dorm for another 5 days. " Kyoka added.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah. If you aren't going to help keep me from my boredom then leave."

"Love you Izu," Denki responded as he kissed me on my cheek and then left with Kyoka. Now I could plan out everything undisturbed. So I got to work after turning on the TV and putting on a random movie. I would need to work quickly to make sure I had everything figured out.
