Chapter 5

After explaining the strange but wonderful connection I have with my my mate everyone at the table was just staring at me. I started to feel self conscious. "Uhm...so yeah...that's what happened. Apparently he's in California now to find me. I thought he was in Spain but he decided to go find me. Fate must be laughing. If I had stayed one more day at home I would have been with him." I play with my napkin in my lap.

I glance up to see the King and Queen exchanging a look. They must be having a silent conversation.

"He said to wait to hear from him tomorrow so we can talk about things." I say getting their full attention.

"Its unusual indeed but not unheard of. I think you should just....wait until tomorrow to talk to him and maybe you guys can go from there." Alistair said.

"You dont think I'm crazy?" I ask.

"No its been written in the past that connections can happen. Just as your pack doctor told you. Try not to worry. The mood goddess knows what shes doing with all her children." Winnifred tells me.

I nod. I notice Celeste and Sophina giving me smiles of encouragement. We finish our meal and Winnifred leads me to a guest room for the night. "In the morning Celeste and I will show you to your room in the pack house closer to the infirmary and you can get aquainted with Anne and your surroundings. And then the day after that you can begin your studies."

"Thank you Queen Winnifred." I say lowering my head.

"Goodnight Valena, and remember fate has a way. I have a feeling you'll see your mate sooner than you think." with that she turns and leaves me to myself.

I get myself showered and changed and ready to sleep before I remember my promise to call my parents. I lay beneath the covers and grab my cellphone.

The phone rings twice before my mother answers. "Val sweetie! Are you okay? I take it all is well?"

"I'm here and I'm safe. All Is well. I am staying in the Royal familys mansion tonight. I promise to tell u all about it tomorrow. I'm so tired though."I yawn. "Mom you met my mate?!"

I hear her giggle. "Oh sweetie why didn't you tell me he was so handsome."

"Mom I haven't even met him so how would I know. I'm having mixed emotions here. I mean I'm excited cuz he came looking for me but I'm sad because I'm not there. And to top it off my parents met my mate before I did! How cruel is my fate? I have no idea who he is or what he looks like. I'm feeling a mix of emotions. All I know is I really need to see him soon."

My mothers sighs through the phone. "I know sweetheart. Don't be ao dramtic. Fate isnt bwing cruel. Have you so littlw faith in the moon Goddess? I have a feeling he will find you soon. It won't be long now. You will love him."

"I already do." I mutter.

"What's that Val?" she asks

"I do. Have faith I mean. What's his name mom?" I had to know since I keep forgetting to ask him

"You will know soon. I think He should tell you." I had a feeling She was going to say that.

"Alriight Mom. I'll call you tomorrow and fill you in on what's happened here. I love you. Send my love to dad."

"Love you too Val. I will. Goodnight."

"Goodnight mom."

Morning came quickly but fortunately I was well rested. I was anxious to talk to my mate. I tried reaching out to him only to be met with a wall. I guess I will just have to be patient. I'm sure he is busy. I got ready for the day fixing my long brown hair. I wore a nice dark pair of jeans with a proffessional looking red blouse. I wanted to be comfortable but if I was to meet Dr. Glester, I wanted to be proffessional, even just a little bit.
