"George! What happened?!" Clay yells running after the brunet.

Why did he run away?

The blond feels as rain drops start to fall onto his skin.

The brunet stops and doubles over falling into the wet grass.

Clay almost trips trying to stop himself. Only caring about the smaller boy he plots himself into the grass.

"George. It's cold and wet!" Clay says.

The smaller looks the other way.

"Please, George." The blond begs.

"What the hell do you want from me?" George grumbles out.

The taller tilts his head.

"Uh one minute we're running around the next we're sitting in the wet grass because you ran away. And you say I'm the one that needs to explain. pft." Clay says.

"I just I." George starts.

"Go on..."

"Ugh! I just have trust issues okay?! I said it plainly!" The brunet yells.

The blond pulls the shorter into a hug.

"That still doesn't explain why you ran away." The taller says.

"Well I just I don't know! Okay? I just need some space I need to breath and think." George says.

This upsets the blond. "Need space?! George your whole fucking life you have sat next to me and not talked a single word to anyone except when it was required! For fuck's sake you sat next to me almost every year even fucking before high school and you didn't know who the fuck I am! You need space. That's ridiculous George you've had space." Clay yells pulling away from the brunet and pinching the bridge of his nose trying to stabilize his breathing.

"I just I don't know. I'm going to go the party an then first thing tomorrow I'm leaving." George says pulling his knees up to his chest.

"What? For real why?" Clay asks.

"I just I need to go home okay?" George says tears falling down his face- though Clay couldn't tell if they were raindrops or tears.

The rain started to pick up soaking both boys but neither cared. They only cared about what was going on.

"Why? Why? Why? What the fuck did I ever do? I just was trying to show you what it was like to have friends! I just wanted to show you how everyone needs at least one friend!" Clay yells.

"Why? Me? There's plenty of other kids in that class that want to be your friend!" The shorter spits back.

"But you sit next to me for godsake! And everyone else talks to at least one person! You can't get through next year- Senior year- without at least one fucking person!" The blond yells.

"Are we really arguing about this?" George asks turning his body away from the taller.

"Yes! We are! This seems important!" Clay says back.

"It's not. I don't need friends." George says.

"Fine whatever I only invited you over out of pity anyways." The blond says. He instantly regrets it.

George looks at the blond one last final time before standing up and running in the direction of the parking lot.

"What the fuck did you just do Clay?" The taller asked himself.

He didn't mean for those mean words to come out of his mouth. He didn't mean them.

The taller got up and ran in the direction of the now disappeared brunet.
