He didn't care, he just likes the feeling of you-only-live-once whenever he would have a good time. Still, in high school, he would cut class and when his father found out, Jonathan was at risk of not graduating high school.

Eventually, push came to shove, his father grew tired with his behaviors and their arguments weren't helping either of their situations. His father had no choice, he had to straighten up his son. Jonathan was no longer the son he once knew, he watched his son hit rock bottom many times. Enzo signed Jonathan up for the military, the Navy. At first, Jonathan was relentless against his father's decision. His mother, Nicola has told Jonathan it was for the best and he had to get himself together. She didn't like how he was behaving and she worried that she wouldn't see him again if he continues to go down that path in life. Subsequently, whenever the recruiters came he would try to avoid them at all costs. His father and mother never told him that they would come over, they just showed up early in the morning. The recruiters would stand outside his room and yell, waking and making him train every morning. He was pissed, he didn't like them at all. Periodically, he didn't bother going home at times. He stayed over at his friend's house and somehow his dad would find him. Both his dad and the recruiters stood by the doors whenever they find him. Every time, he thought he could give them the slip-up but they always find him. From parties to family gatherings, they were always there watching his every move. Forward the very last day for his day of training, one of the recruiters sat with him and told him he needed to let loose the attitude and get it together. Jonathan just flipped him the finger and walked away.

When the time came for him to leave he grew furious, even at the recruiters that came to the house that came to pick him up for boot camp. He hugged his sisters, fist-bumped his brother, hugged him mother, and didn't say a word to his father, Enzo. Jonathan turned his back away and walked out the door not bothering to look back at his family. Regardless, his dad was fine with it. He knew his son would be a changed person when he comes out from the military. He would be a level-headed kid, not the wild and out of control kid, he once knew.
