Katie's Diner that's where I and Donna work at. It's not the best-paying job but I don't care. The reason I got the job in the first place is so I could help my aunt with the rent and stuff. The annoying part is that I have to wear roller skates when I have work. They're so annoying to wear and feel like I'm going to fall but whatever gets the job done.

Today I went to work and I saw Donna putting on her skates
Hey Donna
Hey Y/n
I sat next to her and did the same.
So are you excited to start school on Monday? She said
Well not really, I'm not a big fan of school.
School does suck but at least there are cute boys.

I swear she is boy crazy. All she can talk about are boys and who she thinks is a stud. I'm not big on relationships and all that stuff, so I just left her to talk about her love life. Sometimes it's interesting. I don't know how she gets so many guys but she does. It's probably cus she is really pretty.

    Time skip

While I was working I saw these guys enter the diner. One was this tall dude with dark brown hair and a black leather jacket. He was smoking a cigarette and looked like he was drunk or something. The other dude was this kid who looked around my age and had light brown hair that was slicked back. He had a muscle-t and was trying to act tough. The other boy was this shy kid who had dark brown hair and a jean jacket on. His face looked like he got into a fight or something. They sat down at one of the booths.

I called dibs on that table, said Donna.
Ok, then I replied and continued to take some orders. Eventually, a couple of minutes had passed.

Hey, y/n can you check on that table? Said Donna pointing at the table with the 3 boys.
Why me? I thought you called dibs on that table.
Well, I'm busy with a couple of orders so that's your problem now.
I sighed and skated to that table.

Is everything good here? I said
Yea everything good said the shy boy
Ok then.

I turned and was about to walk away until I heard

Hey, wait a minute, hot stuff.

I hated when guys would call me that.
I turned around and saw the drunk guy call me over. I walk over there and ask

What do you need?
I just have a question
What is it

He stood up and walk right in front of me
You got a boyfriend, doll?
No, but I wouldn't date a guy like you.
Like what. A greaser. He responded
No. I mean a low-life trouble maker.
Oh really. He scuffed. Are you sure about that? He said going up to my face

I walked back but forgot I was on roller skates. I fell back on the floor.

Woah, flustered are you? He said, looking down at me.
I'm done here. I said getting up to leave but right before I did. He grabbed my arm.
Where do you think you're going? He said
I need to work. Can't you just leave me alone? I said, trying to get my arm free.

DALLY Leave her alone. Said the brunette boy.
OH SHUT IT PONYBOY. Dally responded
YA DALLY JUST LEAVE HER ALONE said the other kid. Dally looked at the kid and a pit of anger.
SHUT YOUR TRAP JOHNNY. He yelled letting go of me
Then he starts to mumble. He grabs his cigarette and leaves the diner.

I turned to look at the boys
Thanks. I said
Then I skated behind the  lunch counter where Donna was.

Dang Why it always got to be the pretty boys that are greasers. said Donna
What does that mean?
Greasers are always the ones that are harassing the girls. Donna replied
And the Socs are not. I snapped back
Well, they do but not as much as the greasers.
Really? Well didn't James harass Lisa and wasn't Matthew doing the same thing with Amy. I said
Well that was only twice.
Twice?!
Cherry, Tina, Nacy, Lori, Lisa, and Susan all said they were harassed by Socs.
Well- W- Why are you defending the greasers ? Aren't you a Socs too? She yelled
I'M NOT! I'm a Greaser according to yall
A Greaser? Well, you sure as hell don't look like one. She replied
And what does that mean
Well, you don't have slick back hair, a leather jacket, you don't carry a pocket knife, and you don't act like you are tough.

I actually own a switchblade. I used it to defend myself back in new york but I don't really carry it around anymore.
This is stupid I said walking to the back.
How is that stupid? Donna said following me
Well, the way you treat greasers. I said taking off my skate and putting on my shoes.
And how do I treat them? She said sarcastically
Well, you always blame them, all of y'all act like you guys are better than them. They're just people like you and me.

Donna stood there with her arms crossed and not hearing a single thing I was saying.

You are not even paying attention. Are you? I said leaving  the diner.
I am. She snapped
I'm done for today. I said walking out of the diner.
