Part 9: Realization Over Pie

Y/N POV

Today's the day.. I'm doing a ritual for the tall masked man who claims he is possessed by his homicidal sister to help him not kill me and other people of the world... Anymore... And it's only Tuesday... Great. I walked up to Korekiyo's dorm room after Monokumetry. Surprisingly Kokichi is very smart when it comes to things that make absolutely no sense. I got the things Korekiyo asked me to bring for the ritual. An apple, a lighter, and black gloves. I know I'm the one who suggested this but what's the apple for?? Is his sister gonna get hungry?? I took a breath and knocked on Korekiyo's dorm room door. After a few seconds, the door opened and I saw Korekiyo with a nervous expression on his face. "Hello, Y/N. Are you ready?" The tall man asked. I nodded and he guided me into his room.

The room was completely dark. I could barely see Korekiyo. "Korekiyo?" I said reaching out and around for him. I was about to step forwards, but a hand stop me. "Not a step closer. Did you bring the lighter?" The male said sternly. I passed it to, what I hope was his hand, and stood still. Suddenly, a small light lit up the room. And another followed after. Soon the whole room was revealed to be surrounded by candles in a specific pattern. "Wow.." I said in awe at the sight. "In order for the ritual to work, you must stand to the side over there and put on the gloves." Korekiyo instructed me. I did as he instructed and took a deep breath.

"Okay.. Are you ready for the ritual?" Korekiyo asked, after he got into the middle of the candle formation. "I'm ready." I said, getting into the position. For the ritual, I'm sort of like a spectator. I have to sing along with him in order to be able to spectate. Then Korekiyo releases himself and if it goes well all the candles should blow out. I hope it goes well cause this can either be amazing for his mental health or possibly permanently damaging..

"Do us the honor and lead." Said Korekiyo. I nodded and began to sing. "You do not know it yet, but ye love me and I love thee the same." I started to say. Korekiyo started to join along and say with me "One day we shall meet once again, and thy will be my love and being. Now we are together here, forever. And you wish we shall never part. To this thy is ignorant, but thee no longer has my heart."

"Y/N come forward behind me, but be careful to not touch a candle. Those are to allow a gateway to the afterlife." Korekiyo said. I know I read on this but it's a lot more intricate to do in person. I walked forward to Korekiyo, being sure to not move a candle and stood behind him. Remembering the book, I put my hands on his shoulders and let him do the ritual. According to the book, using the song as a somehow lure to his sister, he is supposed to mentally fight her for dominance of his vessel, or in the case body, and remove his ties to his sister. Which is fancy talk for taking off his mask. If the ritual is a success, and Korekiyo will fall backwards, which is why I am here. If it is not a success, he will call forward and the candles will blow out. To be honest, this is kind of nerve wracking. If a candle blows, I'm running and I don't even believe in this stuff. But if there is a ghost, I won't hesitate to pull out Jesus and The Pope. Even Buddha if I have to!!

Korekiyo closed his eyes and nodded his head forward. He started to mumble something I couldn't understand for about a few minutes. I got startled when he screamed, "I rebuke thee!" and continued to mumble, but this time with noticable anger. In the book it said you can't interrupt the process, so all I was able to do was watch in silence. That same process went on back and force until I heard my name being called which was signalling he was done. Korekiyo pulled down his mask and started wobbling.
