Gael comes in a few seconds after the final bell rings. And sits down next to Constance and she smiles at him and hands him his bag.

"Thanks Constance, I... I'm sorry I ran out of there. I understand if you are just friends with me cause you want me to do ya'lls homework for you. Everyone is like that to me." As Gael says 'friends' he does quotation marks with his hands.

Constance gasps "Gael, we would never."

As she says this the teacher comes in and they turn their conversation into whispers.

"Well that's what happened last year at my old school. So... I kinda assumed that's what y'all would do with me." Gael looks back at the board signaling that he is done talking and starts to read the notes that are one the board.

After class Gael walks the opposite direction than Constance to go to chemistry with another friend. Gael walks into the room after saying goodbye to Constance and goes to sit with PJ and Coral at the back table. Gael sits down and takes out his homework and notes from the day before.

"Hey, man you alright you totally like left us in the lunchroom." PJ says with concern in his voice.

"Yeah, yeah I uh i'm sorry I  just ran into my business teacher and she asked me what I learned at my last school already. No biggie." Gael saying the lie and trying to make it believable.

"Oh, ok then." Coral says with a look that screams 'your lying but I'll let it slide this time'

"Ok, but did any of you do the homework cause I definitely didn't and that's like 5 points off and I can't have that. I'm already like almost failing this class."

"Yeah I did. You can use mine to write yours done. Also that's bad PJ do you not care about your grades or this class at all?" Gael says while raising an eyebrow.

" Well ha ha" He fake laughs and rubs his neck. "I kinda don't really do the work in this class, and the teacher hates me." PJ says while copying Gael's homework.

"It's true, Mr. Hager hates him. He once got in trouble for throwing a piece of paper away while he was talking, it was funny when he got yelled at, but then I got a scolding because I was laughing. But it was still funny." Coral laughs lightly remembering that happened earlier that year.

Mr. Hager walks into the room and flickers the lights, getting the attention of the teens.

"OK. Homework out. And take out your books and copy pages 23-27. It is about energy and resources. We will be learning about the rest of the two weeks until Spring break." Mr. Hager starts going around to check students homework.

After class Gael, Coral, and PJ had finished their notes and done half their homework for that night and started to head out to the tree outside that they go to for their 30 minute free time. They arrive to see August and Constance already there and talking.

"Hey, guys what are ya'll doing." PJ says while sitting down under the tree if front of the other two who where already sitting there.

"Hey, how was class." Constance says while ignoring the question and smirking knowing they hate that class.

"Horrible we had to take notes." Coral says while whining, and flopping back onto the grass while looking at the sky.

"It wasn't at all bad. It was just 4 pages and the questions when the answers where right in front of you. Also I used to have to take like 30 pages of notes a day back home." Gael says quietly while taking out his homework to finish the rest of it that he didn't finish after taking the notes in class.

"What was that?" Coral asks with an angry tone but a surprised expression on her face.

August starts laughing then whispered to PJ. "I didn't known G-man had sass in him."

PJ chuckles then backs up Gael "I mean the notes weren't that hard and the questions were really easy, so he does have a point."

"Coral, don't be mean also I didn't know you had it in you to sass anyone Gael." Constance says looking at Coral then looking over Gael shoulder; as he was beside her, to see what he was working on.

"Shit, I said that out loud." Gael whispers while looking up to see his friends with questionable stares.

"Yeah, yeah you did. It was honestly a little funny because I was joking and you took it seriously." Coral says with a smirk on her face.

PJ POV

PJ sees a look of panic cross against Gael's face.

"I'm sorry I... I don't mean to say that. I'm sorry." Gael says while looking panicked.

PJ noticed the look of panic on his face and got confused why he was panicked it was just a joke that Coral said at that she said dramatically.

Does he usually get into trouble saying the wrong things?

Does he usually have to take that many notes in one class?

Why does he always say sorry?

What did he have to do at his old school?

Why would people bully him at his old school?

Gael is such a good kid and kinda cute. Wait did I just say Gael is cute.

Anyway he said something at lunch earlier about being used for homework.
Was all of this true?
PJ didn't notice the bell ringing and jumped up when August tapped his shoulder.

"Hey dude we gotta go to gym now. Let's go I don't want to upset Coach Ashley like last time." He shuddered at the memory of having to run 1 mile in under 8 minutes as a punishment last time for being late to gym.

"Yeah yeah coming." PJ sighed
