Fresh air washed over the two Mandalorians, the Twi'lek and the now half humanoid that found themselves outside of this sith tomb on Duxun, after a long trek they found themselves back at the entrance to the camp, they were greeted by two of the clan that was guarding the gates.
"Alek, Nylice, what happened we heard a commotion coming from deeper in the jungle, we all hoped you'd come back alright but I see you've lost some men. They will be honored at the gathering later today, for now, get your rest. All of you." One of the guards said leading the small party back into the camp and to the barracks.
The rest of the day went on without interruption, the medics of the clan tended to Alek, and Nylice, Jai'ir, and Dax were left alone to catch up and tend to one another if needed. They found themselves in the barracks, Dax lying on his back as Jai'ir tended to his shoulder where Tavion had severed his biological arm and replaced it with a cybernetic one.
"What happened Dax, after Jaden and I left Dantoine?" Jai'ir asked as she felt his body twitch when she placed her hands on the joint. Dax was quiet for a short while and then he answered her.
"To be honest I don't remember exactly, I had just thought I was going to sacrifice myself for my friends but, Tavion didn't give me that honor, she essentially forced me to join her ranks, or die. Now if I had been offered the choice otherwise I wouldn't have accepted it but the way she worded it, it felt like she was compelling me to agree. So I did, and after destroying the settlement the entirety of her troops, myself included left the planet and I found myself in a prison cell on a ship sharing with an old-timer. Who turned out in fact to be a bounty hunter placed there as a test for me, to see how wild I could be, I suspect. Having got her outcome I nearly killed him the next day simply by exerting a small amount of force. Once the man had been all but killed, she approached me and told me of this program she was running to enhance the biological patterns and makeup of a humanoid or human that wanted. I wasn't aware at the time that it came with a direct one-way link to Tavion, strictly from her side though. As much as I tried I wasn't able to fight back, and that is something that I regret sure." Dax explained. Jai'ir was quiet for a while and after a few minutes, she replied.
"That's awful Dax, I'm sorry you had to go through that, Jaden and I should have waited for you, can you ever forgive us?" She pleaded.
"Jai'ir, there is nothing to forgive, I made my choice, Jaden did what was best for the both of you, I always knew he loved you, you're his weakness Jai'ir, I hope you would have realized this, after the amount of time you've spent together. Nothing about what happened was your fault in the slightest; Gurlan and Sao both knew the risks and gladly took them to help you and Jaden. So, no Jai'ir I don't forgive you because you did nothing wrong in the first place." Dax said, resting his good hand on her shoulder. She smiled and nodded and then pulled him into a hug. It was nice to be reunited with him, even after everything. She pulled away from him after a moment and took a deep breath. She needed to refocus her efforts now; it was time for her to begin searching for Jaden again, finding him, and then never leaving him again. As she breathed, she felt pain rush through her, unfamiliar and strange. It felt strong though, powerful. Just as easily as it came it left, puzzled Jai'ir shrugged it off, and took to warming herself by the heat lamp in the center of their camp.
