You watch as 3 Pokémon begin to run around,they were all starter Pokémon.they all line up and await for one of you to pick one of them.
Leon:you can pick first,hop already has a Pokémon.
You:ok!
You walk over to them and think for a moment,you decide to pick sobble.they start sobbing and you pick them up happily, smiling you walk back over to hop and Leon with sobble in your arms.hop walks over and picks scorbunny,you mentally smack your face face at how he doesn't know his matchups.
Hop:alright time for a battle y/n!
You:alright,alright.
You win quickly seeing as your water type had a type advantage.
Hop: aw man,I lost 😞.
You:it's ok you'll win next time.
Hop:yeah!
You both begin ranting about how cool it would be to beat Leon in a match.later in the day your all having a little bbq,you both decide that tomorrow is when you'll leave for the gym challenge seeing as Leon had endorsed you both.
