Aline smiled awkwardly...
Three old friends sitting together and silence covered the table.
She was the one who suggested this and she felt uncomfortable with the current situation...
--
As soon as the three friends gathered in front of the cafe, there was a brief introduction.
"Nessie Hadley." She greeted while he nodded, "Felix Sharpe"
They shook hands.
They were analyzing each other.
"You are the same as ever." Nessie remarked.
"You too," He replied.
Aline looks at her friend's frosty interaction. Not knowing how to break it.
Suddenly, an idea popped into her mind, "Weren't you two in the same high school?"
It was most likely that the two people had met recently in comparison to Aline, who had moved since years beforehand.
Nessie sighed while Felix blinked. The cold friends shared a look.
Felix narrowed his eyes, trying his best to remember Nessie. He would admit, she didn't look that foreign, in fact, she kind of looked familiar. It was most likely, she had seen her somewhere. He crossed his arms, "Despite being in the same school, we don't cross paths with each other often."
Nessie nodded her head, "You know our school is huge. We also had different friend groups." Regardless of her reasoning, she knew Felix and recognized him of course. How could she not? When her friend was still hung up over him and the fact that he was a popular student. On the other hand, she was the opposite of him, she was an invisible student, having her own set of friends. It wasn't odd for him not to know her nor recognize her as she doesn't stand out much.
Aline ruminated. It wasn't wrong. Their school is huge indeed, they attended a lavish international school which even had starbucks in school! It wasn't a far-fetched reason. She knew that Felix was popular too as she had seen pictures of him being posted by his friends.
"Uhh...But didn't you share the same course?" She couldn't help but add.
The pair of unfriendly friends froze. She was right. They did share the same course, Science Course.
"Despite that, there are still a handful of classes. We were never in the same homeroom class" Nessie clarified and Felix nodded in affirmation.
Aline was taking the information quite well.
She then clasped her hands, "Well then, we can say this is a reunion between friends!"
Calling them friends was definitely far-fetched, at best they were acquaintances. Or most likely strangers. But both people decided to tolerate it because of their friend, Aline.
The two quiet friends nodded.
"Well, then. Let's start the tour!" She exclaimed and started walking. The two pairs of friends trailing behind her.
They started their tour at Tower Bridge.
As the trio of people were walking along the bridge, Aline stopped at a place and started to explain the history.
The two people were behind her and listening to her.
When suddenly, someone spoke up, "You both looked like a couple" An old lady commented at the two frosty friends behind Aline.
The pair looked at each other, disgusted and moved further away from each other.
"Miss, me and him are acquaintances at most." Nessie spoke up and Felix nodded, he couldn't agree more to her statement and turned to look at Aline.
