Is this the end?

All gone

"All our recourses have completely disappeared sir, ALL OF THEM!" The prime minister just stared off into space. Some leader he was. Right hand man John stepped backwards, taking in the view. A hole in the ground as wide as an ocean. Dirt crumbling. A scene from hell. Mining. All the prime minister could utter was a small squeak... Rather like a mouse. "Th-this makes no sense! Where did all our fossil fuels go? What do we all do now? What will the public say?" John didn't answer...he was biting his fingernails. "Well," he said slowly, "there's defiantly no way we'll be able to cover this up, people will know very soon" the president gulped. "Yes... And I'll be the one who has to tell them" Ean!" The prime minister turned to his chief of staff. "How much power do we have left?" "About 3 days worth" "good" the prime minister nodded "that would be enough time to calm down the public and try and find a way around this" "CURSES! Why did we have to put all our faith into non renewable recourses! We could have worked this out!!!" The angry president aimed a kick at his right hand man, missed and landed on his arse. If only the world could have seen that! The prime minister gingerly got up off the ground and dusted himself off. "No body saw that!" He muttered to him self . "Ahhhh, sir, we all did" "AW, shut up and go make your selves useful! John!" "Yes sir?" He answered trying to suppress a laugh "go set up a camera and alert the news reporters...I've got to find a way to break the news to the whole country... We have 3 days left of energy, so we better use it wisely" "yes sir"

Andi walked across his tiny backyard. His eyes locked onto the abandoned swing under the gum tree. Memories began to flood his mind. He shut his eyes and let them overcome him. Suddenly the scene brightened. "A beautiful big gum in our back yard! How lucky are we Andi?" A tall man pats his son on the shoulder grinning from ear to ear "this would make the perfect place for a swing huh?" "YES!!!" The little Andi punches the air with his fist "you always have the best ideas dad!" Andi smiled at the memory. ZZAAAAP! What was that sound? Andi had to put it out of his mind as he heard his name been called from the house. "Andi! Come check this out, I can't believe it!" Andi sighed to himself. Why did his father have to go and get killed by an elephant leaving Andi back home all alone with a nut case for a mother? Yes, that's right, he was studying wild life in Africa when an elephant had accidentally crushed him. When mum heard the news she dropped her cup of tea and toast on the floor. Andi could still remember the sound of the china breaking. The distant look in her eyes. Some where in those eyes a river of sadness growing. she hadn't been the same since. ZZAAAAAAAP! It was that sound again! He decided to ignore it this time "what is it mum?" "Come, look...on the telly. I was in the middle of watching Jamey Oliver when this breaking news came on..." Andi squeezed himself onto the tiny sofa next to his mum and Heio the grumpy tabby cat that was hogging up most of the couch. " mum! Could you move Heio, she's taking up the whole cou-" "shhhhhh!" His mum hissed angrily "get a load of this" Andi turned his attention to the tv. "It's the prime minister..." "Shhhh! Listen to what he's saying!" As I was saying..." Said the prime minister. He looked extremely uncomfortable positioned infront of the camera. His hands were shaking like a washing machine about to explode and he kept dropping the papers he was trying desperately to hold on to. "There's been a bit of an accident and....um" he looked down at the table "....um.....ah...." "JUST TELL US FOR GODS SAKE!" Mum screeched. The suspence was so was so thick that Andi was sure the whole of Australia could feel it...the whole world even. "ah..I..um...regret to inform you that..um...all of the worlds precious recourses have um....completely disappeared...that's right not a trace has been found...we have absolutely no idea how this happened and I'm afraid that we will..." now he looked really uncomfortable. Andi and his mum were staring intently at the tv wondering what would happen next. " We will be having a severe power shortage. We only have about 3 days before our energy runs out completely which means no fuel for cars, buses or other transport which means no trucks to bring food to the super markets meaning you will have to grow your own food" Andi horrified at the sudden news turned to his mother who was silently writing down what the president had said. "Does this mean no school?" Andi whispered " I mean school is closed without power to run it..." "If only we had solar power" his mum was shaking her head. She hadn't seemed to have heard andi's question "I bet you more then half of the world would be thinking the same thing mum" "what do we do know?" His mum was as white as a sheet " I suppose we go back to riding horses and chariots" Andi joked "I mean, now that our cars will be useless with out fuel" "good thing we have cows" said mum "at least we'll have milk..." And we have a vegetable garden" Andi put in. His mum pulled him in for a huge bone crushing hug "oh Andi! We'll be just fine. You'll see" and she winked at him "I won't be fine if you don't let go I can barely breath!" "Good point" his mother released him and they both started cracking up "wait a minute" Andi caught his breath "we shouldn't be laughing, we're in the middle of a crisis" that just made them laugh even more "oh Andi, where's doctor who when you need him?" "Haha..probably too busy fighting the daleks.." "ANDI" Andi whipped around "there's some one at the door" Andi went over to the front door and slid it open. It was his best friend Mark. "What's up Marko?" He asked casually "WHATS UP??" Mark yelled "The whole towns in a panick! You have to come check it out" "mark, do you mean you ran all the way to my house which is 2 km from town to tell me this?? As if i wouldn't guess what was happening" " but you have to come look...the towns gone insane" mark did look pretty frightened "alright I'll come but just for a little while" "what's going on" mum had given in to curiosity and had come to see what the boys were talking about "oh hi Bellinda" said mark "the whole town has gone syco!" "That's interesting..." Mum frowned "come on Andi I'll show you what I mean" mark began to pull at andi's sleeve. Andi looked at his mum "hmmm..ok Andi you can go but be careful you two and be back in an hour and mark, why don't you stay for dinner? I'm sure your parents won't mind" pain flickered across marks face "ok" Andi put his arm around marks shoulder "it's ok Marko, they do care about you ya know" "come on!, lets go" so the two boys walked off down the drive way and off to town... when they reached the town there was defiantly some thing wrong. "Where is every one?" Andi whispered to mark. His voice seemed to echo all around the street. "It's like a ghost town..." "I'm telling you" said mark "this place was full of panicking people before..." Then where'd they all go?"

(How was the very first chapter of my story? Sorry to keep you guys waiting...the internet at home is totally bummed out so I had to go to the public library to publish this ( '^') got to get some more anime to read haha....
