When Andi woke up, he didn't immediately open his eyes. He could hear voices around him. People talking in low voices. "Mark.." He whispered under his breath. There was no answer. "Do you reckon he'll be ok?" Some one murmured "well, it's quite a nasty shock they received but judging by their heart rates they'll recover...which is good as we'll need to question them" Andi scrunched up his eyes and a low groan escaped his lips before he could stop himself. His head was pulsing angrily and he felt like he had head butted a brick wall. He shifted himself painfully and opened his eyes slightly. He immediately wished he hadn't. "Ah! He's awake! Good, good! Some one get the boy some thing to drink!" Andi sat up slowly rubbing his head. looking around the room There were computers every where. A mess of cords and wires covered the floor. Not only that, there were security cameras in every corner and they were all trained on Andi. There was a small group of people infront of him eyeing him curiously. Andi was angry and confused. What is this place? Why were these people staring at him as if they'd hadn't seen another human before in their lives? An unfamiliar man approached him cautiously holding a glass of something that looked a little like lime jelly in his hands. "Here, drink it" he held it out to Andi "this'll help the throbbing in your head" "Where's mark?" Andi demanded angrily ignoring the offering "what have you done with him?" "Ahh... The ginger kid" "his names mark! Where is he?" Andi hissed "haha woah! Calm down child! Your friend is completely fine. You'll get to see him in a minute meanwhile we'd like to ask you a few questions" "is that so? Well, isn't it a coincidence that I have some questions I'd like to ask you as well!" Said Andi sarcastically "first of all, what was that thing back there?" There were a few unsure glances around the room before he was answered by a rather scary looking woman with dark circles under her eyes. "That creature that attacked you is the very life form we have been hunting down for 30 years" "what? 30 years?? What are you guys some sort of monster patrol?" "yeah, some thing like that, you see we're the 'Unexplored Life Detectives'!...or the U.L.A for short" Andi nodded "cool. So why have you been chasing this thing around for so long? When did it get here?" "Well, this thing or the scavvinge as we tend to call it appeared on earth about 31 years ago" "huh, scavvinge?what sort of name is that?" Andi gulped. He didn't like the sound of that "how did it get to earth any way?" The same black eyed lady spoke again "we believe it hitched a ride back on one of our space explorers sent out to collect moon dust" "moon dust?" Andi snorted "since then," the lady continued "it has been attacking and killing people that get too close to it" "that awful!" Cried Andi "how come this hasn't been all over the news? Do the authorities know about this?" "Oh, they know all right but what would people say to that? A alien being slithering about the place killing all that see it? They'd go berserk! That's why the authorities have to keep the attacks very hush hush. When some one is killed we have to pretend it was a heart attack that claimed them...which it basically true because it is said that the sight of this creature is soo scary that most people die from severe shock. But you were the first to encounter one and lived to tell the tale" "yeah but how did I survive?" "You didn't get time to turn around and see it. You see, James here was just in time to save you" James? Andi turned around and his eyes almost popped out of his head. He turned pale and for a moment he thought he was going to throw up. Was it really him? No.. It couldn't be... Suddenly the whole world seemed so far away "Dad?" Andi whispered.
