Is this the end?

Here we go

"Good afternoon my citizens" a mans voice rang through out the court room sending shuddering vibrations that seemed to shake the very bones within your body and cause you to wish you'd brought some ear plugs. The massive screen lit up with a close up shot of the man addressing the audience. The president was actually just below the screen standing poised as if he needing to escape at any moment and on either side of him a series of stone faced men and women clutching papers sitting at a long desk. The vibrations from the presidents voice caused a mans drink to tip over saturating his precious papers. The noise also caused several people to wince and the president to hastily turn his micro phone volume down a little "sorry bout that!" He chuckled "as you all know the world is in a crisis! No energy to power the hungry machines of progress. Every little bit of energy has completely disappeared without a trace. It is pure chaos down there" the screen changed to some battle going on in what it looked like North Korea. "In many countries there is war.

People are confused and scared.word has spread that America is responsible for the disappearance"all around the court laughter broke out "what???" Andi turned to kobi "how could America be accused of something that no human could be capable of???" "People want answers" Kobi shrugged "when people are scared, we come up with ridiculous answers for impossible questions" "above all this war," the president continued " the reserve power that has been keeping this world running for the past 3 days is due to run out very soon...by that I mean in about 2 hours from now" the court was now in an uproar. People were shouting a jumble of words like "WHAAAAAAAT????" "WE'RE DOOOMED!!!!" And one person even shouted "YEEEHAAAA BABY!" Which caused a bit of a confused riot involving a lot of slaps and punches until security was called in to it break it up and that stupid person was carted off in a stretcher. All Andi and kobi could do was stare at each other in horror their mouths dropped wide open. It took about twenty minutes before people began to calm down and realize that they were wasting precious time and by then the poor president had almost given up all hope that any one would ever listen to his frantic attempts to calm the crowd with little result. "NOW THEN" his voice sounded very strained all of a sudden and a hush fell over the crowd once more. "When the power goes out on earth so will ours so we must be prepared.

As i speak, wood is being gathered to stoke the fire powered machines we keep reserved for power outs. We also have solar panels... Now after this assembly, the head of each dorm unit is to report to the medical centre for a supply pack for you dormitory. I want all the special forces team to report to the military office,mechanics to the weaponry and scientists to the research lab" there was a great deal of murmuring going on between the audience gathering up the unnerving humming sounds of hundreds of busy bees. In all these crazy goings on Andi noticed something was wrong with his new friend. Kobi had his face screwed up as if in pain. He had gone even more pale if that was actually possible. Andi placed his hand over Dauntei's tightly clenched one and tried to gently uncurl it "hey, is every thing all right?" He asked softly.
He noticed that kobi had his eyes fixed on a man sitting not to far away from them. Andi frowned. Every one was talking and moving around but this guy was sitting very still and looked very out of place. It was hard to put a finger on like...like a shadow on the wrong spot. A dog barking in the night or a foot in the door but Andi didn't think much more about it as the assembly concluded and they began to file back outside. It was suppose to be exercise time but that was canceled much to every ones relief and they were ordered back to their dormitories.

Andi was in dorm no.8 with Mark, Dauntei and kobi and a bunch of other guys around the age of 16. There were 80 dormitories all up 39 for women and 41 for men. As there seemed to be more guys around the place. Andi, kobi and a couple of other boys were playing a game of cards and kobi was creaming them all. "Maan! You've got mad skills there kobi" a boy named Casidy groaned putting a pair of jacks down infront of kobi. "It's as if you can see right through the backs" kobi gave a slight grin "ridiculous" Andi stole a quick glance to where he saw mark and Dauntei sitting by the rain splattered window laughing about something. He couldn't help but feel a stab of jealousy. It seemed as though mark was getting further away from him by the day. He turned back to the card game fuming slightly.

He frowned. He was super bad at this game and this stuffy dorm wasn't helping i. t was basically a large white box with white couches made of mock leather and a fluffy carpet that felt weird under your feet. There were doors leading off to bedrooms lined with bunks and you guessed it. Everything was a blinding shade of white. They didn't seem to fear dirt in this place. In one corner there was a fridge with snacks in it I case you got hungry In between meal times. The rules in this place were very strict. no one could be out and about after 8:00pm and there was a strict schedule regarding personal hygiene. 6:00am teeth brushing ,6:05am laundry, 7:00 breakfast consisting of questionable foods, 7:30 training. Now, the training was the most ridiculous Andi had ever been through but we'll go into that in the next chapter....I'm talking walking through thick honey which is not as dumb as it sounds. Very calf muscle building not to mention the angry bee stings.

After training for 4 hours it would be lunch time and then more training for 3 hours. The rest of the day after that would be do what ever the hell you want with strict rules on no violence (save that for training) no gangs and no snooping in the upper levels. The upper levels were a mystery to almost every one. Entering the upper levels unauthorised meant flying lessons from the rooftop. And I can tell you. No one had manage to sprout wings from that. Only scientists were allowed up there. Not even the president himself much to his annoyance. "Andi!" Casidy shook andi's shoulder gently "andi, it's your go!" "Huh? Oh..." Andi had just been thinking about his parents.. Were they ok? He hadn't heard back from them. Kobi looked at him. His head on one side as if trying to figure something out. Casidy just grinned "lost you for a moment there mate" "sorry...." Andi put down a card "an 8 of clubs? Are you for real man?" Andi just shrugged "man you suck at this" kobi just sat there staring at his cards. Suddenly there was a great groaning sound like a train coming to a painful holt and the sigh like air blowing out of a mattress and everything went dark. Everyone was silent. Andi's heartbeat picked up a notch and his ears pricked but the only sound that could be heard was the hammering hearts of those around him and the scared silence of frightened souls. A burst of laughter broke the quiet causing everyone to jump. It was coming from one of the darkest corners. Andi could just make out the shape of a boy sitting with his legs extended before him catching the feeble glow of the moon. "And so it begins"

Ah ha! Finally it has happened! the power is now officially out of the count. But how long will the people on earth last? Will they finally smarten up or will they just end up killing each other? And anyway, where the hell did andi's parents go? Pfft! Not even I the dancing bear knows... Well good luck to you;) the darkness is coming and it is coming fast all you good little children tucked up in bed. But for now, sleep and dream a nice dream. Live it while you can👍
