Y/n stood as the Matchmaker circled her, looking at every inch of her body, the woman reached out and turned Y/n towards her, looking at her hips.

"Too skinny. Not good for bearing sons." The Matchmaker wrote on the clipboard when Y/n noticed that the small cricket was climbing out of the cage. He hopped onto the Matchmaker's shoulder, but Y/n grabbed him and tried to put him back, but he was hopping all over her. She quickly shoved the cricket in her mouth when the Matchmaker turned around. "Recite the final admonition."

"Mmm-hmm." Y/n nodded her head as the cricket jumped around in her mouth. She grabbed her fan and covered her face.

"Well?" The Matchmaker asked as she spits the cricket out. Y/n cleared her throat and pulled her fan down from her face.

"Fulfil your duties calmly and respectfully." Y/n recited, looking at the wording on her arm but noticing it was smeared. "Reflect before you snack, uh, act! This shall bring you honor and glory."

Y/n sighed in relief when she finished, but the Matchmaker grabbed her wrist and snatched the fan, to see no writing on it, unaware of the ink smearing on her hand.

"Hmm. This way." The Matchmaker pulled her to a small table and grabbed a kettle from the burner and set it on the table. "Now, pour the tea."

Y/n bent down and started to pour the tea watching the Matchmaker go on with the ink still on her hand. She looked down and noticed the tea missing the cup, she quickly fixed it and filled the small cup.

"To please your future in-laws, you must demonstrate a sense of dignity and refinement." The Matchmaker said as she curled her fingers around her mouth and ink mustache in its wake. Y/n looked down and noticed the cricket in the cup as if he was in a hot tub. The Matchmaker leaned down and grabbed the cup. "You must also be poised."

"Pardon me-"

"And silent!" The Matchmaker yelled at her before sniffing the tea with a sigh. Y/n slowly crawled across the table and reached for the cup.

"Could I just take that back?" Y/n asked as they started to pull the cup back and forth until the Matchmaker flew back and the tea went all over her. Y/n gasped when she saw the cricket fall in where her crest was.

"Why, you clumsy-" The Matchmaker paused when she felt teh cricket jumping around inside her dress and screamed trying to hit it, but accidentally tripped over the burner behind her. She stiffened when she heard the fire sizzling on her butt and let out a scream.

She started to bounce around hitting the burnt dress, trying to put it out. Y/n grabbed her fan and started to fan the burnt area but her butt flamed up and became worse.

Outside the townspeople listened to the loud clattering and the Matchmaker's screams.

"I think it's going well, don't you?" G/n chuckled as she looked at her daughter who was running her hands across her face. Suddenly the Matchmaker slammed open the door, the flames getting bigger.

"Put it out! Put it out! Put it out!" She screamed and Y/n quickly ran out with teh tea kettle and threw on the woman, who went silent. Y/n handed the kettle back and bowed, walking down teh stairs. The cricket ran out of the building and back into the cage.

"You are a disgrace!" The Matchmaker yelled as Y/n reached her mother. She slammed down the kettle, her makeup smearing all down her face. "You may look like a bride, but you will never bring your family honor!"

She turned away back inside, while the townspeople started to mummer words to each other. Y/n stood with her head down, her mother and grandmother tried to comfort her, but Y/n sighed quickly wiping a tear that almost fell.
