We stood in baggage claim waiting on our luggage. "I'm so excited to meet your mom" I rolled my eyes behind my shades. I just wish Haley flew out the damn window.

"I'm going to get Ace" August looked down from the screen and right at me

"You're not about to go over there by yourself. When the luggage comes then we can go together" I truly don't know how they allowed us to even bring Ace. My son is very much over the weight limit.

Haley smacked her lips "she's a grown ass woman. She can go get her dog by her damn self"

August told me to be nice but I think I'm just gone have to whoop her ass this weekend. She's always talking out of term and he just doesn't  do enough for me "b-"

"Haley shut the fuck it bro. You just keep picking at her knowing I asked her to keep the peace. I'm not going to let you disrespect her anymore bro" finally! "Now apologize"

Haley looked like a sad ass child. Probably because she wasn't use to getting in trouble by August. I mean nobody is really it takes a lot for him to get fed up

I smiled looking at Haley "I apologize Ari. Since we're both in his life for good maybe we should try to be friends"

Yeah right. I rather swallow nails "there's my suitcase" August walked towards the belt with me right behind him. He always pulls it off the belt. After we all got our suitcase I was skipping down the halls to go and get my baby. I know Haley wanted to slap me because August was pulling my suitcase and she had to pull her own.

"Ace" I smile seeing him. He was half sedated and you could tell. I signed him out and they opened the kennel. I walked towards him "it's okay" I rub his head. "Come on" he walked out the kennel and I put his leash on. He doesn't need it but airline policies

We walked out of the airport and right towards the rental place. "Imma sit in the back"

"Oh you don't want to drive" August yawn

"No. I think Ace is sick" I look down at him "he's not normally this droopy"

"They probably gave him too much" August look down at him "Ace" he looked up barely holding his head

"Come on" I open the back door. He looked at me "Ace get in the car" I point "August he's sick!"

"Do you always have to whine" Haley ask "he's fine"

Ace never disobeys. I tell him to do something then he does it. "Ace get in the car" August point. He put his front two paws before his head started nodding "he's high" Ace picks him up and put him in the back

Once we got to his moms house I was so sad. Ace wasn't being his usual happy self. Helping him out the car and walking up to the door leaving August and his girlfriend.

Before I could knock the door opened "mama" I smile hugging her

"My baybeh" I started laughing "look at Ace, hey grandson"

"He's not feeling too good" I tell him

"Ma" August yell "you look girl girl! You look like you read up of the runway"

August has the best relationship with his mom. You can actually tell that she raised her son and didn't just put him off. The way her kids are it's really amazing. In a lot of black household a man is told not show his feelings because that's what girls do but you can tell that's not how he was brought up.

"August" she smile as he hugged her "and who is this"

"His girlfriend, Haley" and with that I walked inside of the house with Ace.
