Charlotte's POV
The next day, Friday, went by pretty fast. I slept through most of my classes anyways. Running from class to class was pretty tiring in itself. I was basically just slumping through the halls at this point. I was walking down the hall when I felt a force slam into me. I tripped backwards and instead of falling, slammed my back into a locker."Watch where you're going!"
A tall man-looking teenager towered over me, pretty sure I could even see a beard growing. Nathan, he was captain of pretty much every sports team on campus. Everyone knew who he was. Everyone was afraid of him. But in reality he was just insecure and projected it onto everyone around him. Even the teachers shivered in his presence.
"Maybe if you hadn't have been so stupid, you would have seen me. Jackass." I kept against the locker.
"Excuse me?" He walked up closer to me.
His fist shot across my face. I fell to the ground clutching my nose. Shit.
"Freak." He looked down at me.
"Leave her alone."
Someone stood in front of me. Blocking me from the boys view. The voice that came from the person sounded familiar.
"Oh? Another freak eh? Come to protect your little freak girlfriend?" I looked up. He was talking to Miles.
Miles stomped on his foot, Nathan's toes crunched from the unusual pressure. He let out a blood curdling scream. Miles kneed him in the crotch and he fell to the ground writhing in pain. The skinny boy knelt down beside him as he laid on the ground in fetal position not knowing whether to cover his crotch or hold his feet.
"Don't come near her. Ever. Again." Anger laced his monotoned voice.
He stood up and walked over to me. He reached his hand out for me to take, he lifted me up from the ground. His hands were unusually cold, I almost couldn't tell from mine being the same temperature.
"Are you alright?" I watched as he bent his leg up and adjusted his black boots. I wiped the blood from my nose with my thumb. I looked down at it as it dripped the red liquid.
"Yes, I'm good. Thank you." I shook the blood from my hand.
We hadn't even noticed that students where surrounding the three of us in a circle now. Two teachers came bursting through. Nathan stumbled up.
"Mr. Fairchild!" One of the teachers looked over to Nathan. "Mr. Carter! Are you okay?"
She walked over to him. He shoved her off of his shoulder. She turned to me and Miles. "You two! Both-" "No need." Nathan interrupted her.
"If you suspend them they might just cast a curse on all of us." Everyone laughed. "Oh! Or they will poke our voodoo dolls! They might mix up a potion with eyes of kittens to make us suffer."
Students ooh'd and pointed at us. Miles grabbed my hand.
"Let's go." He yanked me down the halls and into a broom closet. He turned on the light just as my nose dropped blood again.
"Shit." He turned around and shifted objects on the shelves.
"This is a fucking janitors closet why don't they have any damn napkins of some kind?" He turned back around to face me. "Here."
He used his white shirt sleeve to wipe the blood dripping from my nose. I flinched from the pain of him touching it. He held it there for a few minutes.
"He hit you pretty hard didn't he?" I slightly nodded under his sleeve.
He moved his hand and used his fingers to pinch the bridge of my nose. I flinched hard away from him.
"Its broken."
Without hesitation I knew what I had to do. I reached both of my hands up and cupped my nose.
CRACK!
I let out a muffled groan and shook my head.
"That was- hot." Miles' eyes were wide. He opened the closet door and we walked out.
