For a brief second, both their jaws dropped while I just stood there.
The Commander quickly snapped out of her stupor, looking suspiciously around for anything that could have caused that destruction. Clarke... well, she was still shocked - it was sort of cute in a way, her innocence to violence.
Seeing nothing that could have caused this, the Commander turned to me for answers, "What happened here thirteen? Why is there barren land behind you? Who caused it?"
Her questions broke Clarke from her trance, "Yeah thirteen, why is there a massive crater?"
I just gave them a small, near invisible smile, "I'm sorry. It was me but I promise it won't happen again..." whispering, "hopefully."
The Commander only eyed the land once more before skeptically glancing at me, searching for any signs of danger.
"What do you mean it was you? That's impossible, there's no way you can create that much damage," Clarke however was not satisfied with my half-assed answer.
I didn't really want to tell them about my powers because then they'll probably just want to take advantage of it, so instead I just replied, "I don't know, I just felt repressed all of a sudden and then this happened."
It wasn't a lie, just not the entire truth. "Look, don't worry about that, I'm sure it won't happen again."
Deciding to change the topic to take attention away from the now destroyed forest, I said, "It's day break so let's get something to eat."
"I doubt there will be any prey nearby because of this destruction but yes I agree. I will go find some food. You two wait here, I'll be back," the Commander spoke up but Clarke injected.
"No, Lexa. You are still injured. I'll go find something edible for us and you two wait here."
"No Clarke. You do not know what to look for. It will take you longer and we cannot wait any longer."
Clarke looked slightly offended, "Excuse me. I do know what to look for. Before your people interrupted us we were doing just fine on our own."
The Commander raised her brow — that was hot — and Clarke looked almost ready to throw hands. Deciding to intervene before a fight really did break out, I suggested that we can have the limited food stored in the compound so none of them would have to go.
They looked at each other begrudgingly and then nodded at me, hinting that I should go in before them.
They probably didn't fully trust me yet, so it's understandable that they wouldn't want me to be behind them.
I took a step forward. I could feel my knees threatening to buckle from the lack of strength in my body. The earlier event probably sucked all the energy I had which was not at all ideal for the situation with the mountain.
Even though I tried not to show it, I could see that the Commander and Clarke were looking worriedly at my staggered form.
I didn't want pity.
Taking a deep breath, I composed myself and gathered the last remaining bit of energy so that I could to walk normally to the laboratory. The Commander and Clarke soon followed suit as I passed them.
Entering the lab, I headed to where the stimulants were stored, grabbed 4 and headed to the control panel. From there, I made the room convert to a meeting style, with a round table sat in the middle and three chairs around it.
I gestured for the Commander and Clarke to take a seat.
They looked at me weirdly as I was still holding the vials and making no moves to sit with them.
