"Mara are you ready to go?" My mom asked.

Why would I ever be ready to leave my darling sunny home Trinidad for cold killing Brooklyn? But I am not stupid enough to be smart with my mother. My mom is a full blown Trini, everything for her is about Trinidad. She is Black and Indian. She has long curly dark brown hair, and hazel eyes with a bright beautiful smile. That's who I got my looks from.

"Yes mum?" I screamed from my room getting ready to go to the airport. I had on my black cardigan, black crop top that had BOSS written in gold, with camouflage high waisted jeans, and timberlands. I made sure and wear my Cuban link gold chain and my small diamond earrings with my Tiffany's gold diamond charm bracelet. I was taking into consideration that it is raining outside and that in Brooklyn it is winter.

Did I mention that I am rich? It's funny because I do not even know what my family does for a living yet we have this type of money. Oh my father he is WOW. He is just plain Spanish, but he don't look it. If anything, he look more Dominican. He has straight black hair but he never lets it grow longer than his ears, and he make sure that he is always in tone by going to the gym...in our house. He is hardly home during the day but is always home to tell us goodnight.

All we have in our family are girls. There's me, my younger sister, Kaliyah, and my older sister, Bionca. We all get along pretty well but Bionca don't live with us, she is actually waiting for us to come. She is 16 and lives with my aunt, so yeah. My little sister is only 9. You know how usually the youngest is Daddy's little girl? Well not in this case. I, the middle child is Daddy's little girl and princess. And it is fun being it too. I get what ever I want without any trouble, no tantrums either.

"Yo Xio, where yah child, for real? Yah sista waitin for us at de airport in New York, hurry nah!" My father said.

We all got into the rented car and drove to the airport. We got into the private jet, that I knew we had. NOTE THE SARCASM. I was looking out the window and watch everything get smaller by the second.

"Lily, yah nah goin and miss Trinidad?" I asked

"Nah man, I tired of dat place they real irritatin, I jus need to be some where new for true."

"Lil gyal, yah only 9, wah yah mean they irritatin, yah even know how to spell de word?"

"I nah no lil gyal, yah must be lookin at yahself."

After that convo, I soon fell asleep. I felt someone shaking me, and everyone know don't try being aggressive with me when I am I asleep. My reflexes kicked in and I slapped Bionca.

"Yah neva hear de saying respect yah elders?"

"You are not my elder. You are older than me by 3 years, only making you my older sister."

"Watevah" she walked away rolling her eyes.

It was really cold leaving JFK airport. And rather than going to our new house we decided just to go shopping and for Bionca to show us around. I realize that New York had some real cute boys and A LOT of Caribbeans but I never said anything about it. While we were shopping there was a group of girls that just kept looking at me and staring, like do you have a problem?

"Yes, may I help you with something? You're staring at me like I just kill yah mudda, yuh have a problem?"

The girl in the middle smile while the rest still mean mugged me.

"My name Denise." The middle girl said. She look to be around my age and very pretty. She had long wavy hair, with a brown skin complexion and grey eyes. Weird combination, right? But she look really pretty.

"My name Xiomara, but you can call me Xio or Mara."

"Well, where yuh from because I can TELL you're NOT from here. The way you talked, if you talked to the wrong crowd you would've gotten jump."

"I am from Trinidad"

"True, well my family from their, well I guess I will see you around bye baddie."

"Bye."

I may have lied in Trinidad but does not mean was not hip. I have Kik, Instagram, Twitter..but I stayed off of Facebook. I am not that old.

Well we done shopping, and now we are on our way home.
