The throne room

I took ahold of Loki's hand for support as we walked through the golden hallways, the city of Asgard had darker as if a mist of cold and gloom had settled over it. We headed to the throne room where I knew I would need to let Frigga break into my thoughts. Loki pushed open the door to reveal Thor and Odin deep in conversation. They both looked really surprised and guilty when we entered which should have been a huge red flag.

"Umm... Well if it isn't my son. And Y/n,  we've been looking for you everywhere!" Odin lied. I look at him, Thor, then around the room. No sign of Frigga.

"Where's the Frigga?" I ask.

"The All-mother is not here right now," Thor said, avoiding eye contact with me.

"What do you need her for?" Odin asked.

"Y/n has something important to show her." Loki answers for me.

"What is it then? Show me." He asked, boredom slipping into his old, monotone, voice yet again.

"Oh, it's a memory. We need to show Frigga."

"I have been working on my telepathic ability, show me." Odin persisted.

"No really, I'd-" I protested.

"Show me Y/n." He said raising his voice as he spoke. A shudder goes through my body. I walk cautiously over to Odin, kneeling hesitantly in front of him. He shut his eyes and the room faded, opening up into my memories. I focused on my memories of Thor.

The wink.

The tavern.

The forced intimacy

Running.

Andrea.

It should have been done but Odin went deeper.

Being close to Loki.

The overwhelming emotion.

Loki's near suicide.

Then my childhood.

The impossible beauty standards.

Forced femininity.

My mother's yells.

My parents fight.

"Odin stop," I said, trying to stop him from going any further. He didn't listen. He never does.

My first drink.

"She said stop," Loki said in a panic.

My first self-harm.

The relapses.

Being body shamed after doing everything in my power to get 'better'.

"STOP!" I scream, knocking off his focus. This brief period gets from the evil arms of his telepathy. This is being exactly why I wanted Frigga, we had mutual respect for one another.

"You're a monster Loki," Thor said shaking his head. Loki looked at them both hurt and disbelief drawn on his face. It was heartbreaking to see him like this.

"I can't believe you would plant a false memory in Y/n's head and Thor's, just to get the throne," Odin said.

"What? I didn't-" Loki stammered

"Don't lie, I showed farther what you did," Thor stated. Loki started to look aggressive. Maybe it was the lighting but he looked as though his skin had a slight blue tint as he approached Thor, green mist circling his fingers, but he stopped and turned to leave.

"Of course, classic Loki. A coward afraid of a little fight." Thor called after him. Loki summoned a dagger and threw it, making sure it landed right above Thor's head.

"Don't. Test. Me," Loki muttered only just loud enough for them to hear. He left, slamming the door behind him on the way out. Thor looked at me out the corner of his eye and smirked, as though what he just did was meant to make me immediately have an attraction to him.

"I have nothing to say to you." I spat. White sparks started to crawl up my arms and orbit my hands, as my hands shook with anger. I stormed out as well and set our looking for Loki.

I walked around the great shimmering palace trying to find Loki. I picked my pace up to a steady run. I reached Loki's room quite quickly, I turn the handle to see him not facing me, his fists still clenched.

"Why did you come?" He asked. I stammered in shock.

"I thought you might need me." I stuttered. He turned to face me.

"You're just making it harder for both of us by doing this." He said, starting to walk towards me.

"What?"

"You know what I mean." He said softly to me, putting his finger on my chin and lifting my face slightly. My breath hitched as I looked deep into his eyes. I go onto the tips of my toes and connect our lips. I put my hand on his chin, slowly making my way through his hair, after a good minute or so we broke the kiss.

"I'm sorry. " I murmured to him, "I don't know why I did that."

Loki eyes trailed my face. He put his thumb over my lips to stop my apologies, before leaning in for another kiss. It was wrong. It was. But I didn't care about anything, except the fact that I wanted Loki and no one else mattered.

~~~~~~
I set out to the garden. Sitting on a bench surrounded by roses and orchids. There had been announced earlier informing us all that we had to attend a dinner to celebrate my return or 'rescue' in Odin's words. I look around the dark garden, lit up with the faint light radiating from the dances in progress. Bathing in the energy radiating from this celebratory gathering, I lightly rested my head back on the bush behind me.
I got up and sat down at the table, Loki joining me about half a minute later. Thor stopped eye fucking random women and sat down across from us. Odin started a long boring speech about leadership, brotherhood, engagement and the importance of peace in the nine realms. Loki slid his hand through the ruffles of my embroidered purple dress to find my hand, he took my dainty, warm little hand in his bigger, pasty, cold one. He began to run his thumb along the back of my hand, squeezing it ever and again. Thor eyed us up suspicious as Odin droned on about defeating the frost giants, and the bond between Light elves and Asgardians.
"Which leads me to the actual reason off today's gathering, we have decided to move the wedding to next Friday."
