After sending her to the infirmary, Floryn returned to their class as Guinevere laid on the infirmary's bed, looking at the white plain ceiling as the nurse gathers her medicine, paracetamol. She is bustling around, gathering supplies to check on Guinevere as the lady numbly stares.
"You're burning up." The school nurse told her softly as she checked her temperature using a thermometer.
Guinevere remained silent. She's heating up, she says. But Guinevere felt nothing but coldness sipping through her bones and mind. She gathered the blankets to her nose and took a deep breathe. This kind of cold can only be diminished through his touch.
And Guinevere would rather die than for him to touch her.
"Rest for a while first." The nurse told her softly before helping her swallow the medicine. She pulled Guinevere gently to lean on the bed as she got a glass of water for her to use to swallow.
Guinevere laid down after that and closed her eyes as her body is throbbing painfully. The school nurse took her exit telling her she needed to be somewhere and would be back soon. Guinevere merely nodded at her as a reply. Her body finally gave in after the next 30 minutes of doing nothing but thinking about how pathetic she feels. Resting up, her mind and heart still on turmoil is probably one of the worst decision she made.
She ended up having a nightmare.
Guinevere heaves deep breathe as cold sweat broke through her neck and shoulders. She sighs as she looks at her hands that are trembling from her dream.
Waking up with the sounds of giggles and hushed conversation probably added to the list of why she is one of the most pathetic vampire in the history of mythical creatures. Fuck. This sucks so much.
The curtain of her bed hid her from the people outside the curtains. Importantly, why... Guinevere ended up blinking her eyes slowly as she felt the familiar presence.
What is he doing in here? Is he supposed to visit her? Wouldn't that be weird? Not like a professor visiting his sick student is considered as weird but you get her point, right?
"Gusion!" The sweet female voice made Guinevere flinch. "I swear I'm fine! Just a sprain in my ankle. No biggie."
"Les, I told you to be careful." His soft and ever understanding voice made Guinevere's heart clench painfully.
She gripped her chest feeling how hollow it is. Of course. Of fucking course. It's them again. All over again. Guinevere tried covering her ears, refusing to hear their flirting but vampires have naturally heightened senses. It feels like this ability of hers is a curse in disguise as a blessing.
She buried herself to her pillow, trying to drown out their voices and failing cruelly.
"Let me see." His voice softly murmured to the lady who blushed at the way he delicately held her feet.
"I swear I'm fine, Gus!" Lesley assured her childhood best friend who merely clicked his tongue and flicked a finger to her forehead.
"Why did you even sprain your ankle?" Gusion asks her with a sigh.
"A student accidentally did this to me." Lesley sighs. "It's to be expected, really. I am, after all, a physical education professor."
"Then atleast be careful next time. You're making me worry."
"I will. Don't worry, Gus." She replied softly and sincerely. The man before her smiled genuinely as he tied the bandage around her ankles.
"Ah!" Lesley winced as he accidentally press his hands to her injured ankles.
