_____________
You're currently an 26 year old [insert your gender], fresh outta college with your two bachelor degrees that took ages to acquire. You have just moved into Wyoming, or was going to...
After being formally kicked out by your single mother, leaving your little sister behind, along with the very few friends you've ever had in that scruffy old town of yours. You had decided (forced) to move into Wyoming.. Not really a choice but it's fine.
Well, the good side of it was that one of them, one of your friends, were coming along with you, and he was pretty much your best friend; even if you'd trade him for a bag of chips. In the end, you could care less about losing all the others, they weren't worth the trouble.. Along with the fact you kinda liked it too!
Being able to start off fresh made you worry much less. Knowing you've been considered as the, "weird geeky kid" at the back of the class for half of your life, doodling those worries away for the full length of your life. So a fresh start wouldn't hurt, and besides, you've been able to pass all your classes without the trouble of dealing with friends.
And that's for the better.
right?.
___________Feeling a knot form in your stomach as you emerged from the rather small plane,
God who knew flying was so.. Terrible.
During the entire flight, your stomach was swirling, squeezing together and making you all queasy for no damn reason. Your stomach also just had to begin bubbling as well in the middle of the flight, feeling like you had gotten nowhere.
Seriously the sounds of your stomach were overpowering the literal sounds of the engine, it was fucking awful. Worst experience in your entire life. Would not recommend.
Finally, after a long, LONG hour, you had reached your destination... Wyoming. Heading out of the small airplane door to fully get into the tunnel, your eyes seemingly widening..,
It was huge outside the tunnel. And within the of the tunnel, it was weirdly cold as well, your shoulders seemed to quiver at the sudden and rapid change in temperature.
Greattt, you just had to forget to take a jacket onboard with you, greatt.. great job y/n.
You rubbed your hands onto your shoulders, trying to warm them up the best as you could, while still slowly walking up the tunnel and into the airport.
And wow. You've never, even seen the inside of a real, big airport until earlier today. You couldn't help but still be in awe about how big this place truly was. Honestly your eyes seemed to be gleaming 'cus of how cool it just all was..
Without realizing, you were shaking in excitement.
But, it was all short-lived after slowly, and quite painfully realizing you were going to be late to your apartment listing. Your heart dropped to your stomach as soon as you remembered; immediately sprinting out of the gate, desperately trying to find the exit to this humongous airport.
Turning, running, and loud panting was all that was happening to you currently. After what seemed like hours of running (20 minutes) you've finally found the exit, along where you'd wait for almost a century for a taxi to arrive.
You were too broke to get uber, and too lazy to type out your card information in that panicked moment. And even at home, you'd never really use uber or taxi either.. You'd always just walk. But this was different, you knew airports would always be extremely far from actual civilization. At least, you thought that.
You awkwardly kept waved at some taxi cars, desperately trying to get their attention atleast for a couple of seconds as they passed right by you, and instead grabbed another person Infront of you, behind you, whatever!.. It didn't matter, totally.
All you could feel was pure annoyance, pure regret, and pure anxiety. If those inside in emotions were real, and on your little mind panel, they would just be spamming anger and anxiety right now. And every few seconds you kept finding yourself letting out whines and annoyed grunts after being ignored over and over by some lame taxi drivers.
They were lame 'cus they weren't paying attention to their customers, or atleast future customers, morons.
Your hopes to being on time slowly began to die out after being painfully ignored by every single thing for the past 5 minutes continuously.
Until, just after you had sat down and rested on the bench after waving your arm aggressively non-stop for a couple of minutes. A taxi driver had noticed you and drove up right next to you.
As much as you can't complain, it would have been much nicer if they appeared sooner, but better than later right?
Your face quickly lit up and a soft smile curled rapidly onto your lips. There was that confidence you felt before was starting to come back. You got in without any hesitation, and told the driver where to go, not even missing a beat when you were telling him. Totally.
" [...............] uhhh... please.?"
God this was embarrassing.
You asked the driver where to go in an extremely panicked tone, which was also noticeable by how you were slightly shaking. Not only in fear of losing your apartment listing, buttt also upsetting your realtor at the same time.
Your driver most definitely noticed, because he immediately started up the car and began to drive.
Overall, you were just panicking a butt-ton throughout the entire ride, since the apartment was the only one you saw, and frankly, the only one you could afford..
But, it was your best option, surprisingly surpassing the other options you had been given before, which were all... Shit, to say the least. Not only that but you kept seeing dead roaches in almost all of the corners in every single apartment,
Truly a disgusting sight.
Yuck. You muttered softly to yourself after remembering the faint, but disgusting memory. The memory of seeing 7 dead roaches. IN ONE ROOM. Disgusting. Purely, disgusting.
But, you had to admit your realtor was amazing; (and the only one you could afford to hire).... So you never complained or got mad at him for finding the worst apartments you've ever even laid your eyes on.
At least it was all within your budget amount..
_______
And before you noticed, the car had started moving its way into the large, booming city. You couldn't help but stare out of the window as your face was shined with the warm light of the sun greeting you.
The clouds had slightly covered up the daring sky with its dark and grey tainted colors, you almost lost yourself to the awe you felt in that singular moment. The snow covered mountains emerged in the background from a few buildings that you could see..
Despite the fact you were nervous, scared, and possibly feeling TONS of regret, you were.. quite excited. Hopeful, for what to come. What could you even expect? Being in a new state, a new home, a new job, you just.. sorta smiled cheesingly at the thought.
And then you realized you were, and you just kind of cringed at yourself and continued to just try and look out the window without feeling like a main character in a weird slice of life anime.
Even through all the panic you thought had settled deep into you, the thought of starting fresh.. A brand new start sent small tingles of goosebumps crawling down your skin from all the mixed emotions you felt swirling inside you. But you maintained 1 feeling though, and that was the hope of what to expect.
