"First of all, I would like to remind everyone that the Forbidden Forest is off limits at all times. Second of all, please join me in welcoming our new Astronomy professor, Professor Smith." He stood up and everyone clapped politely. It was while I was clapping that I realised something.

I knew him. I hadn't seen him in so long, but there he was, standing in front of me, his bowtie crooked as usual.

Standing at the front of the Great Hall, in front of me, alive and well, was my father.

The Doctor.

———————————————-

What was he doing here? I thought that he was killed after the Time War... Anyway, why was he my teacher? Well, I'm screwed, he thinks I'm dead... Doesn't he?

"He's weird..." Cho whispered to me and I grinned before leaning over to her and Luna.

"He's my father." I replied. The food had appeared and everyone was talking and laughing.

"Wait a second..." Cho looked at me and back at Dad again and again while Luna just nodded. "You're his daughter? But you look nothing like him!"

"There is something called hair dye you know." However that wasn't the case, as it was obviously regeneration... But the glint in Luna's eye told me she knew it was something much more... How? I dunno.

We talked and laughed and carried on until the end of dinner, where we were sent up to our dorms. I tried to stay hidden from Dad, as I would see him tomorrow night for astronomy anyway, which may not turn out the best for me...

TIMESKIP TO THE NEXT MORNING

I woke up the next morning, dreading that night. Maybe I should just change my appearance? I dunno. I mean, I didn't want to avoid him forever, but I didn't want him to know I was alive. I mean, not yet. But I wonder if he knows that Harry is here... Oh well, he'll find out soon enou- crap! Dad doesn't know that Harry doesn't know! Well, there's my decision made for me...

"Hey Luna, Cho." I greeted my two friends, sitting across from them in the Great Hall, where they were already eating. Cho and I were in 4th year this year, while Luna was in 3rd. "The joy of lessons." They laughed.

"I totally agree." Cho said in among laughter.

"Actually, I don't mind my lessons for today..." Luna trailed off. I picked up a piece of toast and ate it as my friends and I chatted about random things, cuz you know, that's what we do.

"We have to go. It's lesson time." Cho sighed after I finished my toast. We all picked up our books and left the hall together, before splitting up, Luna going to Transfiguration and Cho and I to Care of Magical Creatures with Hagrid.

"I wonder what we'll be doing this year? Probably something dangerous." I heard another Ravenclaw say as Cho and I walked down to Hagrid's hut with the rest of the Ravenclaws. "Who knows?" Another replied. I just looked at Cho and shrugged.

"Alrigh' settle down now." Hagrid's voice boomed above us all. As soon as we heard it, the class fell silent. "So, for this firs' lesson, I wanted to lead into the year slowly. Boys, there may not be much yeh can do today, but girls, for our first lesson lets go meet some unicorns. Now, yeh have to be quiet otherwise they'll run away, clear?" All us girls nodded then slowly walked towards the fence where the unicorns were standing. As soon as they heard us coming, they looked up, but being the Princess of the Universe I have a connection with all animals, and unicorns were no exception. I put out my hand and one of the unicorns nuzzled it.

"Hey girl." I whispered, stroking her nose. She snorted into my hand causing me to laugh.

The rest of the lesson went smoothly, and so did the rest of the day. But then came Astronomy.

All the forth year Ravenclaws stuck together as we walked up to the Astronomy tower at quarter to 10 that night. Personally, I was nervous, having not seen my father in over 10 years, but I can just blend in, can't I? We all reached the top of the tower and started setting our telescopes up. I was situated between Cho and Luna as per usual and we were three of the first finished setting up as the Doctor, or Professor Smith as he was now, walked into the room. He reached the desk in the middle of the room and turned, facing the class, or the half on that side anyway. Sadly, that was me.

"Okay! Hello everyone, I'm Professor Smith and I'm your Astronomy professor for this year. Tonight we will be mapping out a star chart - I assume you can all do this from last year?" Dad scanned everyone in the room as he spoke and just as he finished he looked at me. Being the idiot I am, I locked eyes with him and he stared at me for a few seconds before his gaze flickered down to my hands and back up again, a shocked expression on his face. I glared at him, daring him to say something, but thankfully, he looked away.

"I will be coming around the room and handing out star charts, can everyone please go and stand by their telescopes." I obeyed but realized then that I didn't even need a telescope to know where the planets and stars were in the sky, so I just sat on the bench next to my telescope. Dad came around handing out charts and as soon as I got mine, I started filling it in with all the correct positions of the planets and stars and was finished within half an hour. I was better if I had my tiara on, but no. Not here.

Another half an hour and the lesson was over. I had already packed up my telescope and was ready to leave when dad called me back. "Miss Lupin, may I talk to you please?" So I walked over to him.

"Oh my god, Laura, you're alive." He whispered and tucked my hair behind my ear. "I thought that maybe, when Lily and James died you did too.."

"Dad. One, I'm a Time Lady. I do something called regeneration. Great trick at parties. Two, I'm the freaking Princess! Do you think that I would just be able to die? Like that?"

"Okay, you pose a valid point..."

"Why did you never come and visit me?" I questioned and Dad froze.

"Time got away from me." He answered, a far away look in his eyes.

"No. No! You have a TARDIS for god's sakes! Time will never and can never get away from you!" I heard my volume rising as The Doctor went to say something but I cut him off. "You know what? Don't come back and talk to me before you have a valid excuse for staying away for 14 years." And I turned on my heel and walked out, breathing heavily.

Okay, yes, like 6 months, but I have reasons, I mean, new school, training, and Year 10. Not a good combination. And it's like 12 am, be proud of me (pouty face). Anyway, here I am! But I mean, that reunion between Laura and the Doctor... What do you guys think the actual reason is for him not visiting? Comment your ideas and I may incorporate one to my original idea!

Also, I have nationals this week, so no more updates until next week at least. Soz guys. Have a great week!
