Ted didn't bother to look up from his advanced potion making book, even as the the wooden bench squeaked under Victoire's weight. This boy had his priorities sorted, Marvin shook his head, observing the duo from afar.
"Hmm, drop Jobberknoll feathers into cauldron-" Marvin watched as he suddenly started reading out loud (silent moments before) seemingly distracted by the noise around him, which he seemed to have blocked until now- he probably had forgotten to bring his sound resistant ear plugs in hurry, thought Marvin. The chatter certainly seemed to have grown louder also, more so since Victoire had come to the the bleachers- many of the Slytherins ogling at her and some even showing their appreciation with whistles, but she seemed unbothered by it- she was used to be the centre of attention, thought Marvin. But the girl that had captured everyone's eyes had her electric blue ones undividedly focused on the seventh year Hufflepuff sitting next to him, oblivious to his surroundings.
"Victoire?" Ted asked, perplexed, as he suddenly looked up as if sensing her presence, his book almost falling out of his hands and landing on the floor,
"Wingardium Leviosa!" muttered Marvin as he walked up to them, and the book leaped mid-air. Victoire quickly grabbed the book, and pocketed it carefully inside her blue dress robes, before Ted could blink, a smug smile now playing on her lips.
Marvin waved at Ted, which was responded with a half-hearted wink from Ted, irritation evident on his features.
"I guess no more reading for you now mate," Marvin smirked as he settled next to Victoire on the wooden bench of the bleachers. Ted rolled his eyes. "Anyway, how do I look?" Marvin asked proudly, looking at his silver and green Quidditch uniform, his protective head gear secured safely in his left arm, his face lit and no hint of nervousness evident even when he was about to play as a keeper for his team for the first time.
"Certainly would have appreciated a lot more if the colours had been a little different. Blue certainly brings out the brightness of your eyes, you know? Green? Not so much!" winked Victoire, earning her a chuckle from Ted. Marvin gave both of them a disdainful look.
"How quaint," Marvin said, "Anyway, how many times do I have to tell you to stop bringing books to atleast Quidditch mate! I expect better things from you unlike certain someone." Victoire muttered something under her breath, Marvin was unsure what, but it certainly didn't sound pleasent.
"It will take eons before the game starts! At least let me do something productive before it begins!" Ted whined.
"I'm playing as a keeper for the first time! Try to look more invested!" Marvin crossed his arms in front of his chest, his hazel eyes narrowed to slits.
"I sat here to support you as you asked. What more should I do?" Ted asked rhetorically.
"Well, cheer for me!" said Marvin in a 'duh' sort of tone, one of his eyebrows shot upwards.
