It is so loud. People running around everywhere, horses with and without people on or with them, sellers shouting out sells and a mother screaming after a lost son. Truly and deeply chaotic. I guide Isaac inside and I can breath out. He is so calm and listen perfectly to me, he would be like my soulmate, but thats the thing, I do not believe in love or soulmates. I've learned that the hard way.I walk back to the carriage where Ophelia is waiting and we load off the carriage. Ophelia took her time to jump down and also managing to forget her basket so I quickly jumped up to grab it. A thank you later and giving Isaac food and water for the day, we started to make our way through the masses of people.
I like just watching people generally. Everyone is so different and I've learned to make out the simplest emotion they are feeling in the moment. A woman walking past us is clearly upset when she searches frantically with her eyes around the crowd and her hand is fidgeting with her pocket on her dress. She is also speed walking with quick deep breaths.
Soon enough we found the empty table that was mine. It was a simple long, but thin, light colored table made out of wood. I load out the loafs and Fay help me. Soon everything is on the right place and it did not take long before people crowded my table and happily I sold most of the bread in only three hours. It is hard times right now and just bread is hard to get your hands on. I also apparently look appealing to older, kind of ugly looking men and also sweet old ladies missing a female daughter. Both the kind happily bought lots of bread just to talk to me. I answered politely but told the men time after they bought them that I didn't want to go and get a drink with them afterwards or meet their dogs or their daughters who I would love or their new horse that was really rear.
In the meantime were Ophelia out looking for the material she needed and soon I saw her pushing herself through the crowd. She was breathing heavy when she got to me and quickly put herself together before she spoke.
- Avery, they- they are coming, She took deep heavy breaths between the words. It sounded that she had ran a marathon before coming to the table.
- What! No no no why today! I took the money I'd made and put most of it in my pockets and also stuffed some inside my corset under the dress.
Soon we saw the ocean of people back away and quiet down while making way for someone to walk through. I ducked down under the table which had a thin flowery table cloth on it. I take off the pearls from my neck again and hide it together with the money inside the corset. Ophelia stood herself behind the table and I felt my heart starting to race in my chest.
- Move! I head a deep voice calling over the crowd and one of the villagers got a punch in the stomach when I saw them fall to the ground a few meters from my hiding spot.
- Don't you know how to behave around royalties?
- You are not royalty, Fay whispers.
I snort from where I sit but I soon become stern when the steps closes in to us. I secretly remind myself to breath and I see Ophelia switching position where she stands. To my horror I hear the steps stop in front of us and my eyes widen and I feel my heart almost escape my chest.
- Hello my beautiful lady, I can hear a higher pitched voice than before.
- Good afternoon, Fay answers dry.
- What way is that to talk to royalties? Another voice asks. It flows beautifully but with a pity.
- My apologies, she is just as stern.
- Mhm, the same deep voice from before.
- And who do we have under there, he continues.
I stop breathing, Ophelia had looked down on me for not even a second. Slowly I stand up on weak knees and I'm met by five tall knights. Their armor shines in silver, it looks heavy. They don't have any helmets so I guess they just want to be given respect and be feared. We are surrounded by nervous, big eyes but the only ones I can focus on are the green ones. They are so green, deep emerald green. I've never seen such a strong color on someones eyes. I force them away and take in the mans face. The jawline, oh my lord his jawline it's so sharp, and his cheekbones are also quite prominent. You can see that he has dimples even with his stern face, it makes him look less terrifying. The knights eyebrows are quite bushy but at the same time thin. They have the same dark chocolate color as his hair. It looked amazing and so soft and had big beautiful curls that swirled in a comfortable way. I never seen such incredible hair before and now I wanted to steal it. Like he did not deserve those curls. His small, almost baby pink bow shaped lips looks so soft and plumped. Suddenly they start moving and I'm pushed out from my thoughts.
