Leon looks at Grace's empty hospital bed holding Lena with a blank expression and sighs.
Time skip
Leon puts Lena's in her crib gently and slowly as she's sleeping in leon's arms and now her crib. Leon sighs and looks down "I'm sorry lena" Leon kisses her cheek and walks softly out closing the door behind him then walks to the dining room looking at a plastic bag taking out the items inside revealing grace's pendent ring and beanie then looks at their wedding photo on the wall sniffling.
Six months later
Leon's Putting on Lena's onsie while she's kicking and crying "its okay its just Pjs your fine" Leon softly says to her. Lena keeps on crying. "there all done your fine" Leon puts a now calm Lena in her crib. Lena coos cuddling her blanket. "like that blanket huh" Leon sighs "grace bought it" Leon shakes his head "goodnight" Leon kisses her cheek and walks out turning off the lighs then takes out his phone to see dozens of messages voice mail and email from claire chris Helena patrick. Leon sighs and calls Claire walking to a closet in the hallway pulling out a whole bunch of toys and christmas wrapping paper.
"leon finally thought you died" Claire answers.
"yeah well" Leon sighs putting everything down on the carpet on his room.
"how have you been and Lena" Claire asks.
"she's fine" Leon replies
"its almost christmas you spoil Lena"
"yeah" Leon sighs "were we friends and you and Grace were very close and well Lena's going to get older and grace is gone and well"
"you need assistence and a girl to have lena around" Claire sums it up.
"there's only so much I can do on my own and I have to go back to work soon" Leon cups up wrapping paper.
"sure but just to be clear your paying for her girl scout cookies"
Leon chuckles picking up a very old pale pink teddy bear looking at it. "Leon you there" Claire asks.
"yeah sorry just wrapping Lena's present"
"remember to do elf on the shelf cookies and santa"
"Don't think Lena's going to remember this" Leon puts the teddy bear away
"better start early I gotta go terrasave going oversea"
"later" Leon hangs up and looks at the teddy bear
1988
"whats this" Younger grace asks bald in a hospital bed.
"early christmas gift I bought it my mom said to wait but I want to give it to you now" A younger leon smiles.
Grace opens the box and smiles "its a pink teddy bear" Grace smiles hugging it.
Now
"come on where is it" Leon looks around the closet "shit finally" Leon pulls out Grace's old cop teddy bear she had in raccoon city "wouldn't hurt to give Lena grace's stuffed animals" Leon sighs.
Two weeks later
Lena giggles hugging her two new bears. Leon smiles looking at her.
Three months Later
Leon's crying in his sleep under his covers then stops to hear Lena crying on the baby monitor. Leon grabs it and sees in the camera Lena is crying and screaming hoding the bars for support. Leon gets up and walks to Lena's room to see her crying and coughing. "oh shit" Leon gulps.
Time skip
"its just a cold Leon" Janet writes down something on paper
"grace was sick what if Lena's sick if you know what I mean" Leon holds Lena on his waist
