A tall man with thick and bushy beard descended the stairs and moved past the kitchen to the dinner table. He drawled, as his eyes searched for the newspaper, "Savita, where is today's newspaper" He called out his wife, who was working in the kitchen.
A lady in her late 30s answered from the kitchen, dusting the flour from her hands and picked the fresh newspaper and gave it to him.
He wore his spectacles and started reading the newspaper. Just then, his children - a six year old girl and ten year old boy came running to the living room, dressed in school uniform.
"Good Morning" The girl greeted her parents and sat on the chair.
"Good Morning" The boy greeted too, pulling the chair closer and sat down.
Their mother served hot chapattis and palak paneer on their plates.
"Mom, where is bhaiya?" The boy asked, as he tore the chapattis, dipped in the gravy and pushed into his mouth, chewing it properly.
"He must be coming, you know, your brother is under training" She answered.
The man put the newspaper away and began to eat, when he heard a beeping sound. "Savita, what is this noise?"
"What noise?" She asked in disbelief.
He got up and went to the kitchen.
"The beeping sound" He crouched down to check the LPG regulator, he moved closer to the sound and saw a bomb attached to the cylinder."Oh no" Words escaped from his lips.
The bomb was ticking 0:04
He rushed to the living room and dialled 100 on the telephone. But it was too late.
A 15 year old boy came jogging to his house's gate, he opened the gate and slowly walked to the door. The bomb blew off and a loud deafening and jarring noise came and he was flown out, his ears were ringing, his body was paralysed for a moment. His house was into shards. He tried to move his legs and crawled to the door. He limped and went up to the remaining part of the house, he fell to his knees when he saw his dead parents and siblings.
The whole scene was heart breaking, his parents was crushed under the debris. He held his little sister's hand and touched her cold cheek, who laid infront of him. "No" He whimpered.
"No"He screamed hard this time, crying out loudly. His world was snatched away from him. His family was dead, his heart ached terribly.
The door drew open, Tiara and her brother entered her apartment. She placed the key on the key holder. She made her way to the kitchen, took out glasses and filled it with water from the water purifier. Her brother grabbed the glass and quenched his thirst.
"I am taking the sofa" He said, he kept down the glass on the kitchen counter, as he went back to the living room.
"As your wish" She drank the water, opened the tap, washed it and kept the glass upside down on the utensil rack.
"Good night" She replied and went to her bedroom and closed the door.
Her brother, Rohit slumped on the sofa. He shared less moments with his sister, but he acted, as if he missed her a lot. He did care for her, that was another thing. The bond with his sister wasn't much strong, and that's the reason, he lied to his sister. The boy he came to meet was his boyfriend and he tried to keep her away. He was surprised, when he saw her date.
He not only knew that man, he was friends with him.
When Rohit was a teenager, he often did drugs. Once, while in a club like restaurant, he bumped into Ryan, who was then a 20 years lad. The plastic pouches fell on the ground and Rohit bent to pick them up.
