"This is not me worrying about you or anything of that sort, but are you really gonna be okay, Arndolfr?" Rodowena questioned.

The pair made their way towards the outskirts of Cherrygrove City with Lune stashed back in his Pokéball and Arndolfr almost emptyhanded after his Budew Esmeralda has just been stolen from right under his nose.

"I'll be fine," Arndolfr muttered as he kept on rubbing his temple, evident that he's having a headache.

"Then you should do something about that headache once we reach the Pokémon Center," Rodowena replied then paused a bit. "There is a Pokémon Center in Cherrygrove City, right?"

"Yes, there is, Doie," Arndolfr replied casually. "You would have been able to tell immediately if you had the Pokégear, but since we'll need to reach Mr. Pokémon's house beyond Cherrygrove Town where Prof. Elm currently is, that'll have to wait."

"Yes, not important," said Rodowena dismissively. "As I was saying, do something about that headache of yours. The way you rub your temple is vexing me."

Rodowena did not expect Arndolfr to snort at her remark.

"What's so funny?" Rodowena demanded.

"You know, Doie, you're probably one of the rudest people I have ever met, if not the rudest, and yet, I'm not mad," said Arndolfr as they finally reached the entrance to the city.

"So, are you saying that you like this?" asked Rodowena.

"I'm saying that you're the first rude person whom I'll actually be able to tolerate, not that we'll be travelling throughout Johto," Arndolfr replied. "As I said, I'll only be travelling with you until we reach Violet City."

"That's fair," replied Rodowena with an air of dismissiveness.

They only have to walk for a few more minutes before they finally reached Cherrygrove City Pokémon Center.

"Welcome to the Pokémon Center," a familiar looking person chirped from the reception counter. "We restore your Pokémon to full health."

Perplexed, Rodowena asked, "Wait a minute, Nurse Joy, I could swear I saw you back in the Pokémon Center of Floccessy Town in Unova. What are you doing here?"

"Oh, young lady, the Nurse Joys of Unova are distant relatives of the Nurse Joys here in Johto," Nurse Joy explained.

Rodowena stared at Nurse Joy in disbelief. "So you're saying there are more of you?"

"Yep, there are more of them," Arndolfr answered for Nurse Joy, "but we're not really here for idle chitchat. Nurse Joy, I'd like to ask if you have some headache relievers here."

"Oh sure, let me get some for you," Nurse Joy chirped once again, checking her counter drawer.

"While you're at it, Nurse Joy, I'd also like to book two rooms for the night," Arndolfr added.

Rodowena would have retorted, saying it was still too early in the afternoon to call it a day, but for some reason, the mention of the room made her imagine a bed, which led to her suddenly feeling drowsy.

Taking her room key from Nurse Joy, Rodowena then spoke as she walked to the stairs that led to the rooms, "I'll go ahead and call it a day early. If there are no mysterious thugs in suits that storm in here without warning, or if the world isn't ending, or if there's no free food, do not, under any other circumstances, wake me up."

"That first one's weirdly specific, but okay," Rodowena heard Arndolfr reply to her as she climbed the stairs and reached the farthest door from the staircase, which number matched the one on her room key.
