Harry’s plane was getting ready to land at Manchester International. He’s tired as hell from being on a plane for such a long time and also a little nervous to see his family. His mum is the only person that’s supposed to be at the airport to pick him up, and then he’s going to go home and see his sister and step dad. She’s the only person from home he’s seen within the last 5 years. They have seen each other exactly 5 times; she came to visit every year on Harry’s birthday. Other than that, the only face-to-face contact he’s had with anyone from home has been on Skype.

He’s also quite nervous to see Jay and her family, because he knows there’s no way that he can avoid Louis. Not that he wants to avoid him, he just doesn’t know what their first time talking in 5 years is going to be like. He imagines it’s going to be quite awkward.

Harry has also been thinking non-stop about the fact that Louis quite possibly could have moved on from him. He knows that Louis had feelings for him before he left, they talked about it, but he couldn’t really act on those feelings since he was just about to get up and leave the country. For him, thinking about how Louis could have moved on to a new person (and probably did) is the scariest feeling he’s ever experienced.

The fact that he still had any hope that Louis was waiting for him made him incredibly naive, he knew that, but that’s what he’s been clinging to for the time he’s spent away from everybody.

Harry is taken away from his thoughts by the sound of everyone on the plane clapping and cheering as they neared the ground. He doesn’t take part in it though, instead he just clenches his jaw and tries to calm down his racing heart.

This was it - there was no going back, no more hiding from everyone.

His ears were popping, but he ignored it, wiping his sweaty palms off on his sweat pants.

In about ten minutes time, Harry found himself unbuckling his seat belt and picking his carryon up off of the floor, waiting for the two people sitting next to him to get their things out of the overhead so he could get off the plane.

Once they were done, he stepped out into the aisle and followed the line of people towards the exit. He stepped through the door and was welcomed by the loud rush of people that was Manchester International. He walked over near a wall so he wouldn’t get in anyone’s way and dug his phone out of his bag. His mum told him to text her when he lands so they can find each other.

Just got off the plane, where are you? xx

By baggage claim. Hurry up, I can’t wait to see my baby! Xx

Harry laughed at his mums excitement and put his phone away. He was excited to see her, he’s always been a slight mummy’s boy.

He shook his hair out and readjusted the bag on his shoulder, looking at a sign pointing in the direction of baggage claim. He walked for about 3 minutes before he reached the area with the conveyor belt and the huge crowd of people standing around it.

He walked around a little bit in search of a short woman with black hair that could be his mother, but couldn’t find her. Just as he was about to take his phone out again and ask her where she was, he heard a high pitched ‘Haarrryy!’ come from behind him. He smiled brightly and turned around. His mum was there, looking just the same as the last time he’d seen her.

Anne threw herself into Harry’s arms and starting crying. ‘I missed you so much Harry,’ she said, pulling back with a smile on her face. ‘I missed you too, mum. How’s everybody at home?’ He asked, following her to the conveyor belt. She sniffled, wiping her eyes, ‘great. Gems is beyond excited to get you back home, Robin is as well,’ she sighed and then continued, ‘I heard from Jay that Daisy and Phoebe are bouncing off the walls waiting for you to get home.’
