chapter one

it's been 3 months.

bakugo has been in a coma for 3 months.

kirishima has been grieving for 3 months.

"kiri, i think it's time to move on, hun." mina says.

"but what if he wakes up?" kirishima asks nervously.

"he'll understand. i know he will. and like you said, if."

bakugo has 20% chance of surviving.

"hey, it's okay, dude. don't be so bummed." denki pops in.

"alright," kirishima pauses, "i'll try to move on." he smiles lightly at mina.

of course, kirishima has many close friends and is a very likeable person, so moving on will be easy.

"hey, guys." sero comes into the room.

"you made it." denki says.

"yeah, but i brought some people with me," he gestures them in.

todoroki and midoriya.

midoriya.

kirishima has always had a interest in midoriya. maybe not romantic because of bakugo, but now..

"hey, mido! come sit by me." kirishima smiles.

in return, midoriya smiles as well. and heads over to sit by kirishima.

"also, i have an announcement." sero, says as he sits down, todoroki sitting down beside him.

everyone looks at him curiously.

"shoto and i are dating." sero smiles.

everyone was surprised.

especially midoriya. he looked really hurt.

"you good, bro?" kirishima whispers to deku quietly.

"eh. i kinda liked todoroki.." he frowns.

kirishima mouths an 'oh'.

two weeks later

beep beep

that's the lovely sound of a heart monitor.

the lovely sound of bakugo's heart.

his beating heart.

which is beating normally.

his eyes flutter open.

he tries to sit up, but his body won't allow him.

he's

weak.

bakugo looks around the room he's in.

he immediately spots his sleeping parents and gives them a soft smile.

he notices the nurse alert button and presses it.

after a couple minutes, a short middle-aged woman comes in.

surprised.

"you survived." she says, grinning widely.

she immediately goes to wake up bakugo's parents.

"you're son..."

the two parents have a worried look on their faces.

"is awake!"

they grin widely. tears fall out of their eyes as they go to see their child.

"oh, katsuki!" his mother exclaims, leaning over him.

his father is silently crying, with a large smile plastered on his face.

"can you try talking, sweetie?" mitsuki, his mother, asks.

bakugo manages to say a little "hi."

masaru, the father, lifts bakugo up so he can sit up.

"what happened?" bakugo mutters.

"you got into a bad fight with a villain." mitsuki says.

"oh."

"where is everyone else?" bakugo asks.

mitsuki was confused for a second then she assumed he was talking about his classmates. "they stopped visiting about a month ago. i believe they gave up. you only had a 20% survival rate."

"oh. um- can i stand up?"

masaru looks at the nurse for reassurance and all she does is send a approving nod.

bakugo attempts to stand up, but immediately falls back on the bed.

weak.

"why am i weak?" he asks worriedly.

"will ua take me back? will it?" he rambles out a bunch of questions.

"you'll stay here for another month to regain your strength." the nurse says.

"oh. okay. thank you."

bakugo is trying to change. if he wasn't so ruthless. if he didn't try to be better than deku, he wouldn't be in this state.

"has eijiro visited me recently?" bakugo asks.

"he came by a couple weeks ago but recently he hasn't been coming." his father answers.

bakugo nods.

does he not like me anymore?
