Chapter 26-Ronald

I was glad that Aurora was free from those girls but I felt awful that she was only freed after being harmed and that made me mad I wanted to rip out there throats and drained them dry but something about Auroras forlorn expression after hearing all the cruel things that were done to her calmed me down and I know she trying but she's really hurt.

I was glad her mates where there for her but I felt like I was also meant to be there for her but I didn't know how how it was clear she didn't know our connection its the reason why after I took Aurora and princess Genevieve shopping I decided to go for a swim in the rumored mermaid lake.

I undressed but I couldn't help feel like I was being watched so I used my vampire eyes just to make sure and i looked around but i couldn't see past the vervain fields since vervain was a vampires weakness and none of our powers worked if we were close to vervain and because of this weakness i was practically blind and vulnerable to attacks.

I went back to minding my own business but then I dove under the water because it was so tranquil and peaceful that I stayed under the water longer then I needed too and since I was a vampire I had no reason to breathe but when I surfaced I saw Aurora she looked worried then embarrassed and when I looked down I realised that I was buttass naked I cleared my throat and Aurora turned away I then quickly got out and put on my boxers and trousers then I cleared my throat again to indicate I was decent.

When Aurora turned towards me again I noticed her eyes widen as she took me in and the way her eyes went up and down my body made me feel goosebumps but the thing that really affected me was when Aurora placed her soft dainty hand on my tribe tattoo and when her finger traced the tattoo I couldn't hold back my gasp and suddenly I felt warmer and I looked at Aurora with a look of love and care but when I saw her trying to deciper my look so I put on my resting face and said

"Your highness what can I do for you do you need help"

She nodded her head to say no and then she said something that for the first time after being turned into a vampire I felt strong emotions and here is what she said

"Ronald I don't need help but I feel like I need to do this because ever since you were selected to be my driver and bodyguard I have seen you go beyond your duties as both and It has made me want to do something for you and please accept what I give you since I had no idea what vampires liked so the kind shop man helped me decide the gift"

Then she took out a a velvet box and handed it to me and when I opened it I saw a Bloodstone Ring I was so happy that Aurora had given me this but sad because she had no idea what the ring meant to vampires because these rings weren't normal rings that we wore as gifts these rings meant eternal love and commitment I thanked her telling her that I loved the gift and she smiled radiantly and walked off.

I put the ring in my pocket not daring to wear it until I had marked Aurora with her consent then I went back to the cottage that I had brought i put on the fireplace and took a shower before putting on my grey tracksuit bottoms I left my shirt off and I had a white towel on my neck and a cup of bourbon and a bottle of animals blood I mixed the two in a large glass adding ice and lemon and I mixed it.

I then took out the ring box and I tried on the ring which was perfect size and I began day dreaming of how life would be if I was married to Aurora and living with her and her other matesand to be honest I loved the dream and seeing Aurora happy made me happier I drank my drink and went into bed after reading and writing in my journal.

That night I had a dream of the ceremony of my chief coronation and I saw everyone drinking blood and celebrating and then I saw the Blood Moon and the horrible screaming of blood lust and children crying i woke up startled and I felt disturbed i then looked at my arms and the scratches i had received by my siblings as they were going through bloodlust the day we were turned and how we all drained our long time nanny of blood.

That was the worst part of the turning and that was also the day I decided to hunt animals and not humans my family laughed at first but soon everyone saw my way and the ones who didn't were banished and named rogues strigoi and with our diet of animals blood we kept our human looks but the rogue strigoi lost there humanity and there humans features and the ability to procreate and there souls turning them into red eyed heartless monsters with no soul .

That was our life and over the years we lost many to the rogue strigoi lifestyle family,freinds but those we lost we pretended they never existed it was harsh and heartbreaking and it wasn't only my tribes family members but I lost my eldest brother who became a rogue strigoi even before we were all cursed by the bloodmoon as vampires he was a human who craved power and didn't care who he killed for that to happen.

He had a son too my brother killed his girlfriend and his child's mother and drained her blood his son would've been next but my father saved Billy in time and raised him as his own son my nephew never found out about his father for a long time but when he was 15 my parents told him everything we feared he would go looking for his father but he didn't in fact he acted like his father never existed and he always said "my father is my grandfather" .

This made us proud of him but till this day we still fear that Billy will one day want to find his dad and that day it will be upto us to let him leave or keep him away from his biological father I though as I drank more bourbon.
