Marco's POV:

I'll admit, seeing a three eyes fiery demon creeped me out.

"Star!" He exclaimed happily. "My beautiful shining Star!"

Star glared at him. "Tom."

So this was Tom. He was looking at Star with love. I glared. No one looked at Star like that. Except for me.

Wait, what? FORGET I SAID THAT!

But this guy did make me a little jealous. It made me upset to think Star dated this loser.

Did I like her?

Nah! Wait, yes I do!

Oh gods, I have a crush on Star. And I'm not regretting it.

Tom smiled. "How I missed you Star! How are you?"

Star growled. "None of your concern, Tom! We broke up, remember?"

Tom snickered. "But in the end, we will end up together. You and I are supposed to be married!"

I glared harder. How dare he say that!

"You should just get back together with me!" Tom put his arm around her.

I shoved it off. "She doesn't like you like that! Get over it."

Tom frowned. "And who are you?"

I said, "I'm Marco Diaz."

Tom smiled. "So tell me Marco. What is your importance in Star's life?"

I hated this guy. So I decided to say something that'll make him so angry.

I put my arm around Star. "I'm Star's NEW boyfriend. I better one then you would ever be."

Star looked at me in shock, but she didn't pull away. Was she blushing? Or was that the heat from the fire that was coming out of Tom's ears.

Tom growled. "Then that only leaves me with one choice."

I smirked. "And what is that?"

Tom said. "I challenge you."

Star's POV:

I can't believe Marco did that! I mean, I'm not complaining. It was really sweet, but now Tom challenged him! Marco wasn't ready for that!

Marco was obviously scared, but he said, "Name your date!"

Tom growled. "Tomorrow at noon. No weapons. Hand to hand combat."

Marco glared. "I'll be there!"

Then he took the scissors from my trembling hand. He looked at me worried. He cut the portal open and walked me through.

Once it was closed, I slapped the back of his head. "ARE YOU INSANE?!?!"

Marco replied. "OW! I was just trying to help!"

I sighed. "I know, it's just, Tom's never been beaten before. Almost every guy was nearly killed! I don't want you to get hurt."

Marco smiled sadly. "Hey, I'll be okay. I mean, I've survived Ludo and his crazy minions, right?"

I nodded, "Yeah, but I'm still going to get nervous. You're my best friend Marco. I already lost Pony Head. I can't lose you either."

I hugged him and he hugged back. Tears pricked my eyes.

"Star," Marco said in my hair. "I'll be okay. I love you. I had to do it."

I was shocked when he said he loved me. "I-I love you, too."

We leaned back. We were looking into each other's eyes. I leaned in closer and so did he. His eyes were warm and friendly. He leaned in closer. Those amazing eyes . . .

Then he kissed me. And you know what I did. I kissed back.

Marco's POV:

A minute earlier . . .

"I love you," I hugged her. "I had to do it."

Then I realized what I said. I just told her I loved her! Great! Now things are going to be all weird!

Then she said something that surprised me, "I-I love you, too."

She-She loved me?

We leaned back. Then I noticed her eyes. Her magical, beautiful eyes. I stepped closer and so did she. Those starry eyes . . .

Then I did something crazy. I kissed her, and she kissed me. And you know what? I don't regret it.

Then we pulled away.

"I-I got to go!" Star stuttered. "I got homework."

I didn't say anything. I watched as she walked out.

Did I really just kiss Star Butterfly? And did she actually kiss back?
