BRANDY MONROE was America's sweetheart. It was the late 50s, pencil skirts and suede shoes were all the rave.
You could usually find Brandy in a secluded corner in Hollywoods best diner, her curls bouncing mindlessly as she nodded her head to Ritchie Valens on the jukebox, sipping on her chilled coca-cola.
Most famously known for her dimples, rom-coms, and her Bésame red stained lips, the fifteen year old was hiding from reality. With her satin head scarf, ( slowly sliding off due to the volume of each curl on her head ), and cat sunglasses she blended in with the crowd; a heartbroken teen in 1959.
Brandy almost wanted to hide in her black turtleneck but she knew that wasn't appropriate; especially if the Paparazzi found the soft-spoken starlit close to tears in a chock lit shoppe. It didn't help that her sister, Marilyn Monroe was who she was, adored by most, envied by more.
She was, of course, used and abused by her and her sisters status in high class Hollywood, which eventually led to her most recent heartbreak.
She chewed on her straw. Flipping through the months latest gossip in her tired little head; she never knew her mother, and by now all of Los Angeles knew that, why, maybe even all of the United States knew. But what really ticked her off was the way some people would twist her misfortune into something nasty. Bitter people would call her an illegitimate product of her father, and she'd try not to let it get to her. The majority of Americas population didn't care so she tried not to—but when she became more successful, the more malicious people got, ( or maybe ), the Gods.
