Ultrasound

"There they are!" the woman in scrubs said sweetly as she pointed to the ultrasound screen.

"Do you know how long?" Yumiko asked.

"About two months," the woman replied.

"We just moved in together about two months ago," Josuke muttered.

"Shut up Josuke," Yumiko grumbled, punching him in the arm, making the nurse giggle.

"Well, the baby looks healthy. I'll go get those sonograms for you and you're free to go."

As the women left the room, Yumiko wiped the gel off her stomach with a paper towel and tossed into the trash.

"So, how're you feeling after that?" Yumiko asked, sitting up and turning to Josuke.

"I have no idea, I feel happy, but nervous at the same time," Josuke explained.

"So you feel almost starstruck?" Yumiko suggested.

"I'd say so."

"Would you say you feel almost...."

"Yumiko no."

"Joestarstruck?" Yumiko said, howling with laughter as Josuke sighed, unimpressed.

"I guess I deserve that," he sighed.

"I'd say so," Yumiko smiled, calming down.

"Hey I'm hungry, can we go to Tonio's?" Yumiko asked.

"Sure, we can tell Okuyasu while we're there," Josuke replied, taking Yumiko's hand.

The two walked through Morioh, waving every so often to people they knew and eventually arriving at the small restaurant.

"Hey did you ever end up telling Yukako?" Josuke asked.

"No, why?"

"The Hirose family is right there and Kaya has you in her sights," Josuke explained.

"Yu!" Yukako exclaimed.

"Hey Yukako," Yumiko smiled as she and Josuke approached the table.

"How are things going? We haven't heard from you two for a while!" Yukako said.

"Well yeah, we've been a little busy," Josuke chuckled.

"Well we were just finishing up here so we'll leave you guys be," Yukako replied.

"Aren't you going to ask why we've been busy?" Yumiko asked.

"No, that's your business," Yukako said.

"Oh my god, just ask, I can't take it anymore!" Yumiko exclaimed.

"Alright, alright, what's going on?" Yukako asked.

"I'm pregnant!"

"Oh my god, you're kidding!" Yukako gasped.

"Nope! We just got back from our first appointment," Yumiko smiled.

"Ah! I knew it!" Yukako squealed, jumping up from her chair and squeezing Yumiko in her arms.

"Congratulations guys!" Koichi exclaimed.

"What's going on?" Okuyasu asked heartily, handing the bill to Koichi as he approached the table.

"We have something for you Okuyasu!" Yumiko said, handing him a copy of the ultrasound.

"Thanks! Though I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with it," Okuyasu explained, examining the picture.

"Do you know what it is?" Yukako asked.

"Some bad camera skills if I've ever seen em'," Okuyasu said.

"It's a baby Okuyasu," Josuke replied.

"No, babies are weird and wrinkly, this is just a bad picture," Okuyasu scoffed.

"Okuyasu, that's a fetus. A baby before it's really a baby," Yumiko said, pointing at a small peanut shape on the sonogram, "and that's me and Josuke's fetus."

"So, that's you and Josuke's...baby?" Okuyasu asked, looking at the picture and back at Yumiko and Josuke.

"Exactly!"

"I-I'm an uncle?" Okuyasu asked tearfully.

"I mean if you want to put it that way-"

"I'm an uncle!" Okuyasu exclaimed, "Tonio! I'm an uncle!"

"Let's just calm down," Koichi stammered.

"Wait a minute.... So that means you two-" Okuyasu began before being cut off by Yukako's hair wrapping itself over his mouth.

"Let's keep what happens in their private life private," Yukako said before letting Okuyasu go.

"Thanks Yukako," Yumiko chuckled as Okuyasu ran to the kitchen to tell Tonio the news

"Are you feeling ok?" Josuke asked, entering the living room.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Why?" Yumiko asked, relaxing on the couch.

"Well it's just that I remembered Yukako being tired and sick when she was pregnant with Kaya, so I just thought you'd be the same," Josuke explained.

"Not every pregnancy is the same babe," Yumiko said in an annoyed tone.

"Ok, my bad," Josuke said, holding his hands up defensively.

"It's fine."

Josuke made his way to the kitchen to get a glass of water, coming back to Yumiko, who seemed spaced out.

"Hey, Yu!" Josuke said, waving his hand in front of her face, grabbing her attention.

"Yeah?"

"Nothing, just wondering why you're so spaced out," Josuke chuckled.

"No reason, it's just weird to think that we're parents...."

"But we'll be the best parents ever to little Josuke Junior," Josuke replied, snuggling into Yumiko's side and slightly squishing her into the couch.

"If you think we're naming this baby Josuke Junior, you're out of your mind," Yumiko grumbled.

"Just a placeholder," Josuke chuckled, turning Yumiko's grumbles into a soft smile, "oh hey, what did your brother think?"

"F*ck."
