Thoughts of Solicitude

Third Person POV

Vox and Mysta were greeted by the most beautiful room, surrounded by walls of the same white and red roses Vox noticed earlier. There were booth-type seats going in a circular motion whilst there was a beautiful white fountain in the middle, with a falling red rose illusion.

Vox folded his umbrella back to its original state and placed it back into his pocket, eyeing his surroundings carefully. Mysta was no longer by his side as he was now knelt down in front of the fountain. The water poured from each level of it beautifully and with such grace.

Vox went to observe the rose-filled wall as the room remained in silence, with the event of earlier still on both of their minds, especially Vox's. His thoughts were now clouded with the message that he was told before he ascended.

"It's forbidden to love a human. Demons are only supposed to love demons. You cannot love another human being. That's just how it is, and it cannot be changed."

Vox's POV

This was the message told to me, as I wasn't allowed under any circumstances to disobey it. But the thing is, I'm no longer living in Hell. This shouldn't apply to me anymore. This is the mortal realm, living by the rules of mortals is now my duty.

I turned to look at Mysta, who was entranced by the fountain's beauty. I smile at him. We had only met for almost a day and there's something about him...I just can't figure out what it is. However, he makes me feel content. But I still can't help but wonder if I am still bonded to the message...

I was immediately snapped out of my thoughts when Mysta came up towards me and called my name. "Vox, are you alright?" he asked me, sitting down on the seat. I sigh and sit next to him. I know neither of us probably want to talk about it, but it has to be done.

"I'm...fine. Listen, Mysta, I'm sorry about earlier, I don't know what came over me that made me want to do that-," I began, but I was stopped by the sudden movements of Mysta, who was now directly beside me, with little to no space between us.

Before I know it, Mysta holds onto my cheek, staring directly into my eyes as if he was looking for something in them. What the hell was this, and why can't I move? My body remained stiff as if it were paralyzed by his touch.

"Vox, I want you to move in with me. I can teach you more about the human world. All the places you've always wanted to see that you've heard about from the fallen, you can go there. We can go there. I'll help you with whatever I can," Mysta said, still staring into my eyes.

I look at him, shocked. This man wants me to move in with him after just a day of meeting each other? I sat there in my silent shock as Mysta continued searching in my eyes for something. I don't know what he's trying to find, but those damn blue eyes of his are so alluring.

Mysta's POV

Here I was, looking into Vox's eyes as he did mine earlier. I just asked him to move in with me, giving him the promise of a better life in the human world. I offered to do whatever I could in order to help him find his way. But there's something about him that I can't get rid of, I just can't...

"Mysta," Vox began, wrapping his arm with my arm, which was the one that was raised to his face. "You've done a lot for me so far, I can't possibly thank you enough, but..." he said. Hearing the word "but" is never a good thing. "But...are you really sure that this would be, okay? Vox asked, looking worried.

"Of course, it would be okay. We can figure out a situation for your bedroom, that is, if you still say yes to moving in," I said. As I slowly began to let my arm fall, Vox's firm grip kept it in place.

Vox looked at me and smiled. "Yes, Mysta, I would love the pleasure to be able to move in with you," he said. My eyes widened as I smiled and hugged him, my face buried in his chest. I feel his arms wrap around me in return.

30 minutes later...

We were now getting ready to head home since it was getting dark. We made our way back to the beginning of the park as we saw families and friends getting ready to depart for their homes as well. We began chatting about future plans that would benefit Vox's time here on the mortal plane.

We had now reached the entrance of the park and were beginning to follow the path to get home as Vox spoke. "So now that we're officially going to be sharing a home, we should be a lot more open with each other on matters, right?" he asked, turning his head towards me.

"Of course," I said, nodding. "After all, if it helps you with fitting into the human world, I'll be happy to." Vox smiled at me as we continued walking.

10 minutes later...

We finally got back to the house as I began to once again fumble with the loss of my keys. Damn it. "Oh yeah, I should probably get you a keychain or something so you can use the house key. Don't want you losing it like I do all of the damn time..." I said, getting slightly annoyed.

"Let me help," Vox said, sliding his hand into my pocket and pulling the key out in one try. "How did you-," I started but Vox just laughed at me. "I noticed you stuck it into that pocket rather than the one you pulled it from yesterday," he said. He stuck the key into the doorknob and turned it, stepping inside.

"Well, you are coming in, aren't you?" Vox asked. "Of course, I am, I own the house!" I said, running inside and closing the door behind me.

There's something about you that I can't get rid of or can't figure out, but I'll figure it out one day, Vox Akuma. I will.
