"We have to get out of here!" You shouted. Several shots fired and you ducked down, trying to keep pushing forwards. You felt Natasha's hand on your shoulder, the feeling of it twisting into your jacket as she yanked you. Then you fell.

"Ugh! Gross!" You gasped. Nat had landed on her feet and managed to scope out that the sewers were clear. You had landed on your knees and hand to catch yourself. Your hands and your legs up to your knees were soaked in sewer water.

"We're alive aren't we?" She snapped and started walking.

"Yeah. But did we have to go through the sewers?" You complained as you followed her. After a long trek through the sewers it opened up, a faint light shone through the tunnel. Several bars covered the end and you watched as she shook them.

"You don't happen to have any of your tech on you?" Nat asked.

"Well If I'd known we were going to go through the sewers and needed to cut open a grate I would have asked the bad guy to stop so I could get my kit out of the boot of the car!" You hissed at her. Something dropped into the tunnels. It was way back at the entrance that you'd fallen through. But it was too close for comfort.

"Then we go under." Nat muttered. Before you could do anything more than take a gasp of air she'd pulled you down under the sewer water and swam under the bars, through a small gap. She let go of you when you were clear, letting you go up for air before you dove back under and swam in the direction she was going. You weren't sure how long the two of you swam for before you ended up on the shore.

"Are they gone? If I have to get back in the sewer I'll flip out." You asked and she chuckled, laying on her back as she rested for a moment.

"They're gone. I thought we'd have a romantic night in the sewers." Natasha muttered. You laughed and rolled over as you lay on the sand.

"It's valentine's day?" You asked her. She nodded.

"Great way to kick off the romantic day huh?" She asked sarcastically. The two of you saw something in the water, far off in the distance and hurried towards the road you could hear. You kept a watch on it as it got closer, some sort of robot tech that was able to track you in a way you didn't know robots could. Natasha found a car and called you over. With one last look out at the water you hurried over and got in.

"Where do we go? I've not been on the run before." You mumbled as she sped off down the road, seeming to know exactly where she was going.

"I'm something of an expert. I have a few places." She said confidently. You jumped as the road behind you exploded.

"Are they psychotic robot proof?" You asked as you watched, what was essentially, an angry round robot with arms flying down the road. "Gun?"

"I saw one in the Glove box." She said as she turned in one smooth spin of the wheel and took a sharp turn. You wound the window down, leaning out as you fired several shots. You hit each time but all you did was damage one of its arms.

"Do you think you can get us out of here faster!" You yelled into the car. Nat was holding onto one of your legs with one hand, steering with her knees and using the other to change gears.

"What do you think I'm doing, taking it easy? Why is that thing still going?" Natasha yelled back.

"Well apparently it's bloody bullet proof!" You said as you climbed back into the car, tucking the gun into your jacket pocket.

"Did you aim for that?" Nat asked as the robot started gaining on you and you could see a massive red circle that looked a little like an eyeball.

"No. I shot around the murdering robot." You huffed and shot out of the window at it.

"Want me to have a go?" She asked.

"I am perfectly capable of killing the robot, thank you."

"You're not getting it though." Nat said. She took another sharp turn down a side road. The car was bumping and rattling as it sped along. The car started to grind and make a horrible scraping noise.

"You're breaking the car." You pointed out.

"Well if you got the robot I could slow down." She snapped back.

"I'm trying!" You insisted. There was a loud bang and you flinched. Then another. Then the car stopped. "I can't see the robot any more. Also I think you broke the car."

"Well now we have to walk on foot." Natasha pointed out. You got out, checked the car for anything else useful, a first aid kit, some water and silver packets of emergency food were all you found. Heading back towards the road, being sure to stay covered by the trees, the two of you followed it, nearing a small town. As you did, a van slowed down and beeped. There was a blond woman hanging out of the window gesturing in your direction.

"Urm... do we know them? They shouldn't be able to see us this far in the woods right?" You asked. Natasha sighed and stomped towards the van.

"You're late." Natasha grumbled as she hopped over the safety railing at the edge of the road and hopped over.

"We would have been here sooner but you left a bunch of bullet proof robots blocking the way." The woman said.

"We need to move Natasha. I did not have time to subdue them all. I do not know how long the bullets I used will work. I need to get it back to the lab and see..." A woman in the driver's seat said as you got in the back. One of the robots was sprawled on the floor of the van, it had a large round bullet lodge in it which seemed to give off an electric pulse every few seconds.

"I know. We can go now." Natasha said as she sat on the floor behind the driver seats. You closed the door and sat next to her. The woman in the passenger seat had turned to stare at you.

"Are you one of the American superheroes, the Avengers?" she asked.

"Not really. I don't think Nat's captain would let me join with my rap sheet." You said and grinned when Natasha scoffed.

"He let me in. You could just ask." She pointed out.

"Firstly. Fury made them make a team so you could fight crime with them. Secondly. It's more fun to act alone. It gives Cap a migraine." You smiled when Natasha laughed.

"I'm Yelena." Yelena said as she reached over in the passenger seat to shake your hand.

"(Y/N)." You said back and smiled at her. You both jumped when something bangged against the side of the van.

"We have company girls." The woman in the driver's seat said.

"Melina, do you have any weapons? We lost our gear in the field." Natasha said.

"On the left side of the van, there is a hatch where you need to press the button that looks like a dent in the wall." Melina answered. Natasha got up, not even wobbling as Melina swerved between cars. The hatch fell open and your eyes widened.

"Damn. That's a lot of really big guns." You muttered.

"You shoot. I'll open the doors." Nat muttered. She opened the doors as you picked up a weapon that looked to be loaded with more bullets as the one stuck in the robot on the floor.
