Prompt: "can i kiss you?"

Annie knows every little detail about you, your family history, the things you are allergic to, who your best friends are and worst enemies. She knows you inside and out and for the longest time, you thought you knew her too.

Every night, she would sneak into your room and talk the night away. Nobody could ever understand the bond the two of you share, especially since Annie reveals things to you that she has never told another soul.

"My father trained me to be the best warrior I could be." She says, hugging the pillow that rests in her arms. "He taught me everything I know."

"Do you miss him?" You ask, your hand reaching for her knee in the hopes of providing her with any sort of comfort. She yelps in response.

"Your hand is cold." She whispers and you remove it immediately, rubbing both hands together. "No, no, I like it."

"I'm sorry. I just don't want you to be uncomfortable."

"I could never be uncomfortable around you." Annie smiles lightly, the moonlight reflecting on her face and it brings out the shine in her eyes. "And to answer your question, yes. I miss him dearly. All I want to do is go back home."

"So why don't you?" You ask, a hint of sadness in your voice as you try to hide how devastated you feel by the simple idea of Annie leaving.

"It's complicated." She says, placing down the pillow she once held so intensely. She reaches for your hand, placing hers above yours and squeezing the area for no longer than a second and it earns a relieved look out of you. "Plus, you are here."

A silence fills the air for a while. It isn't awkward in the slightest, if anything it comforts you greatly. For a second, it seems like Annie wants to say something, beg for something even though she remains quiet.

Her lips part ways before being shut again, no words making their way through her vocal cords.

Outside, the sun has begun to rise and you decide it is time for you to go to bed for at least a couple of hours before another mission on the other side of the walls. Though you don't complain, Annie is worth the hours of lost sleep.

She stands up, head nearly hitting her head on the ceiling. Quietly, she jumps from the top bunk towards the floor and you let out a heartfelt giggle.

"I'll see you later?" She asks, reaching for your hand in the hopes of assisting you into getting down from the top bunk. You gladly accept her assistance.

"Of course." You respond and Annie smiles.

She walks towards the door but before she can touch the knob, she turns around to look at you one more time. She takes in a deep breath, mentally preparing herself to say something to you, something new.

"Can I kiss you?" Annie asks, the tip of her index fingers touching each other as she looks down. Her rosy cheeks give away how embarrassed she feels to ask you for such a trivial thing.

This wasn't the first time you have kissed Annie, in fact you have grown quite used to the feeling of her lips against yours. Every crack, every flick of her tongue, each little detail. Though when you stop to think about it, it was the first time she had ever asked to kiss you.

And when realization dawns on you, your cheeks begin to turn warm until they eventually start to burn much like the feeling in the pit of your stomach.

"A stomach ache? Now?" You ask yourself mentally, right arm wrapping around your stomach as you clutch the area gently, trying to avoid demonstrating to Annie how you feel. It's not until you see a few tears in her eyes that you notice it isn't a stomach ache. The feeling in the pit of your stomach is a mixture of nerves.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked." She says, fighting hard to keep her tears at bay but failing miserably. Before you have any time to respond, she has already begun running away and your only chance is grabbing the sleeve of her hoodie.

Your hand brushes against the cloth but it isn't enough to bring her back but you won't give up. So you throw your arm towards the other side, in the hopes of getting the hand she is throwing backwards while she runs and, thankfully, you are able to grasp at her skin.

It takes every ounce of effort you have within you to reach for her but she is worth every last bit. Annie stops running but she does not look at you, in fact her focus remains on the floor until she hears the answer she had been looking for.

"Yes." You say, no louder than a whisper. "Please, kiss me."

Slowly, her eyes meet yours. Those damn blue eyes that have hypnotized you at every step of the way since the very first time you looked into them. The only thing going through your mind is how beautiful she is and how badly you wish she would kiss you.

"Y/N..." Your name falls from her lips with ease, leaving behind a sweet taste. Her hand reaches for your cheek, caressing the area with her thumb and you nuzzle yourself into her touch.

"Annie..." You reply in the same quiet tone. Saying her name was always one of your favorite things in this whole world.

All the distance between the two of you is broken as soon as her lips slowly come towards yours and the sensation is even better than usual. Maybe it's because this is the first time Annie has shown any interest in kissing you or because this is somehow special.

Annie wraps an arm around your waist and pulls you close. Her lips are soft, almost silken against yours. You can feel a tickle underneath your nose only to realize it's from her breath, fingers slowly going through her hair as you take each other in.

Her tongue swirls around yours and you realize there is no fire in her actions, everything she is doing is out of pure affection and love.

Unfortunately, you are the one to pull away and you curse yourself mentally for your need to breath. A small string of saliva attaches your bodies together and you smile, watching as the silver string gets undone once you pull further away.

"I'll come find you again later today, like I always do." She whispers, pecking your lips quickly one last time before she bolts out of the room, the blush covering her cheeks and your heart skips a beat at how beautiful she looks.

Though you don't see Annie again after this and you learn the bitter truth about her backstory and why she would never talk to you about it. From the mouth of the Commander himself, you learn the truth about the female titan's identity and how Annie was caught and is now crystallized.

"Annie, no matter what happens." You say, reaching for the crystal slowly, "I'm on your side."

Annie knows every little detail about you and, for once, you feel like you are finally beginning to know every little detail about her.
