"Welcome to Calc class. It seems we have our second hour together. You can sit anywhere," Erianna said. "It's like that in most classes. The teachers just don't really care".
I sat in a desk in the back near the middle row of desks. No one but Erianna was sitting next to me. I looked around a bit and saw what you find in every classroom ever. Cheesy posters with "jokes" on them, piles of paper, a printer, a teachers desk, and a white board in the front of the room.
The teacher sat behind his desk and he was looking around at the students with squinted eyes; they stopped on me. I looked away and he looked at me for a second and then the bell rang and a few students ran in and sat in their desks.
"Good morning everyone," he said half-halfheartedly. "I'm not going to ask you how your summer went because I don't really care. You're here to learn, not explain your life story. Now, I'm sure most of you already know that Dante here" he pointed at me "is new. Now you can introduce yourself or whatever after class. For now, just sit down and shut up."
He proceeded to write on the board and give a lecture. Someone rose their hand.
"Sir? Are you at least going to tell us your name?" the student asked.
"You don't need to know my name. You just need to shut up and learn." he said without turning around.
"We might want to learn a bit more if you weren't such an asshole. Be a nicer teacher and maybe we'll want to learn" I said.
He turned around and looked around. "Who said that?" he asked in a monotone voice.
"I did" I said "and I don't regret it at all. Now shut up and teach us."
He looked at me "So we have a smart ass. I think it's time to teach you how we deal with disobedience at this school."
"No. It looks like you need to continue teaching and forget that I said anything." I said as my eyes began shifting.
He looked at me for a few seconds and then turned around and continued his lecture as if nothing happened. Everyone in class was looking at me in awe.
I looked down at my desk and just stared and everyones attention eventually went to the lecture.
