"This isn't really that accurate," Spencer said bluntly, handing the script to you.
"It's not supposed to be." You placed it in your bag. "It's supposed to be entertaining."
"Our job is entertaining!"
"If you like watching people do paperwork all day."
Spencer frowned. "You just aren't here for the exciting stuff."
"Keep telling yourself that."
"You missed a case the other day!"
"I had something to do," you replied.
"You can't just ditch coming here, I waited for ages."
"Family business, Dr. Reid." Your phone rang. "Speaking of which. I'm leaving early today."
"Miss L/N—"
"Urgent family business." You left the room, picking up. "What?"
"What a kind way to address your brother."
You exhaled. "Step brother."
"Are you coming or not?"
"I'm getting into my car right now."
"Good. Mom's been wanting to get everyone together for ages."
"I'm hanging up, Jacob."
"Bye—"
You clicked off your phone, getting into the car. "Maria L/N's house."
"Yes, ma'am." The driver pulled out of the lot.
"Y/N!" Jacob went in to hug you.
"No way." You held up your arms, blocking him.
"Okay..." Your step brother backed away awkwardly. "'Em...Joshua is coming too. Justin's in Prague on business though."
"Pity," you murmured semi-sarcastically, heading into the large house.
"Y/N."
You faked a polite smile. "Mother."
"You're well?"
"Great."
"Good, good."
Am uncomfortable silence.
"There she is!" Joshua walked in, extending his arms.
A smile spread across your face. "Josh!" You hugged him tightly.
"How's my favorite little sister?"
"Better now."
"C'mon, let's go sit down."
Jacob glanced at you both as you headed into the dining room. "Joshua, hi."
"Oh hey, Jacob." He sat down next to you. "Did you take the role?"
"Which one?" You questioned, a maid pouring champagne into your glass. "No thanks. Water, please."
"The FBI one."
"Oh, Lydia? Yeah, I uh I took the role."
Joshua grinned. "Perfect. You're welcome."
You snickered. "What did you do to help me get this role?"
"I introduced you to Andy back when you were younger, don't you remember?" Joshua tilted his head.
"Erm no." You sipped the water.
"You were busy, it makes sense. I did though."
"That's nice."
Jacob narrowed his eyes in on Joshua. "So Y/N, I saw your new ad campaign for Dior—"
