A day of firsts, Chapter 2

Calebs POV:

"Rise and shine boys." I heard my dad say. I opened my eyes to see my father already in his priest robe, holding my baby sister Amana in his arms. "Big D, I love you but it is way too early for this." Sacha said to my father.

Sacha has called my dad 'Big D' ever since he was seven years old because it was so funny to him because of the obvious joke and because my father's name is Donald-David so it's two d's, making them big. My dad went along with it because he thought it was funny as well and he was just happy to finally be bonding with Sacha.

"I love you too son but today is the first day of school and Marie will kill me if either of you are late so, up, up, up. Also, I already called not having to change Amana's diaper."

Groans erupted from Sacha and I both as my father left the room snickering. "Good morning bug." Sacha greeted, removing his arm from where it naturally rested around my waist.

"Good morning, bean." I greeted back, sitting up along with Sacha and resting my head against his chest.

My mother usually greets us in the morning so it's most likely late and she's already at work. My mom (Marie) is the owner of a  waffle house a few minutes away. Sacha and I also work there but mostly only during the summer.

"We should probably get up now if we wanna have time to find our new classes." I said, yawning but making no move to actually get up. "Yeah,  you're right." Sacha said, standing up and walking towards the bathroom.

"I'm gonna shower." He informs, disappearing behind the white bathroom door before popping back out just to annoy me with a simple, "By the way, I call not it on changing Amana's diaper."

I grumbled a string of curse words towards my supposed best friend as I stood up and walked out of the safe comfort of my room to face my doom.

After Sacha and I were all ready and grabbed something to eat we started our journey to the first day of our junior year.

I started towards my car but when I realized that Sacha wasn't following me but was instead heading towards our skateboards I walked over and grabbed mine.

 *Twenty minutes later*

There were only five minutes left before the bell to head to homeroom would ring so Sacha and I walked down the hall shoulder to shoulder, heading towards our lockers.  Everyone was being so nice to me, saying hello and asking how am, congratulating me on becoming the new team captain.

Two girls stopped us (or should I say me since everyone was pretty much completely ignoring Sachas existence) as we were walking and one of the girls with strawberry blonde hair immediately started grinning and twirling her hair around her fingers.

"Hi Caleb, I'm Illingwa, you probably already know me since I cheer for all the sports teams here." I don't think I've ever seen her in my life but I keep quiet about that part to be polite.

"Anyways, there's a party tonight, celebrating the first day back to school, and me and my friend here were wondering if you wanted if you wanted to come with us." Illingwa said. "Sure, that sounds great, as long as Sacha can come too." I said, happily gesturing towards Sacha who was standing right beside me.

The girls only seemed to just now notice him and they turned their noses up in disgust. "Sorry but it's kind of an invite-only kind of thing." The girl said, snottily. "Oh, then I don't think we'll be able to make it." I said, about to walk away.

The girls looked at each other, confused then Illingwa decided to yet again open her stupid mouth. "What, are you dating or something?" She questioned. "No, I'm straight. We're just best friends." I said with a laugh although its none of her business anyway. The girls were silent then looked to Sacha as if waiting for something.

"Oh, um... I'm not straight. I'm polysexual I mean." Sacha clarified. The girls looked even more confused then. "Polysexual means that you are attracted to most genders but not all. In Sacha's case, he likes everyone who doesn't identify as specifically a girl." I clarified even further. The girls weren't saying anything and just kept looking between Sacha and I with weird looks on their faces.

"Um, we should probably start heading to class." Sacha says to me, quietly. I can tell he's nervous by the way he keeps fidgeting with his fingers and rocking back and forth on his heels. He put his hand out for me and I immediately grabbed it and began dragging him away from the two girls.

We got to homeroom right when the bell rang. The teacher handed everyone a sticky note and told us to write our name and dream job on it then turn it in for her. After that we get to just chill for the rest of the period.

I want to become a pharmaceutical scientist. I quickly wrote that down along with my name and stood up to turn it in. I grabbed Sacha's as well so that he won't have to get up himself. I briefly looked at his answer although I already knew what it would say.

"I'm Sacha Midnight Bell and my dream job is Cytogenetics." His small blue sticky note read.

When the bell for first period rang Sacha and I walked as slow as possible, not wanting to start with all the work yet. My attitude promptly changed the second I saw who walked in the door. "Come on Sacha, don't want to be late." I said, dragging him into the classroom and pulling him towards the front where I saw the blonde girl skip to.

"Why are we sitting in the fro," Sacha started before cutting off. "Oh, Tara." Sacha said lightly, almost like he was sad. I sat in the seat next to Tara, expecting Sacha to do the same but when I looked up he was still standing. I looked to my left only to realize that the only seats left were in the back.

"It's fine, you can stay here. I'll just sit in the back myself this time." Sacha said, trading back there. It took me only half a second to collect my things and go sit with my best friend. "It's okay Caleb, you can sit with Tara. I know how much you like her." Sacha said. He was trying to make it seem like he doesn't care but I know he does.

Sacha has really bad generalized anxiety and panic disorder and when something that may seem small to others happens, like if he answered a question wrong and someone says "Are you stupid? That was so obvious." he will sit at his desk and try to hide the fact that he's having a full-blown panic attack even though everyone can see so then I drag him into the hall and hold him until he calms down.

I honestly can't be talking though since I have insanely bad separation anxiety. When I'm away from Sacha I am constantly worried about him, especially if it's sudden that we are separated and its not part of our everyday routine.

It's not just that though, I get worried that he won't be there when I need him even for the little things like a bad day.

The biggest thing is that I miss him. He is the calm to my storm of life and without him by my side I get swept away in the winds before I crash. Sacha is the only one who grounds me and I would choose him over anyone and everyone, especially over some silly crush.

I hardly even like Tara, I just try to make it seem like I do so that people don't think I'm weird. Tara is nice and all and she's very pretty but let's be real, she doesn't even compare to Sacha. He's my best friend and always will be.

"I wanna be with you always." I say grabbing Sachas hand in my and lightly gliding my thumb across his harsh knuckles for reassurance. He smiles over at me and I smile back then class begins.
