20- Sleep over

Layla feels everything slip out of focus, she nods and he leans forward. He takes her lips between his and tugs softly before coming back in again.

He grips the back of her neck and she cups his jaw. She hears a gasp and breaks away.

Layla flushes and looks at Mira who was blushing too. The scene was too intense for her as she looked at Layla who was blushing furiously because of the kiss.

Mira looks at Harry who was looking at her and she blushes harder as she knew the look in his eyes all too well.

Alair turns to Mira, "So-" "I'll order the pizza" Mira said as she rushed out. Layla follows her without a glance at Alair.

Layla finds Mira sitting on the sofa. Staring blankly at the screen. They look at each other before bursting out laughing at what just happened. Layla sits beside Mira and decide the order.

Alair looks at the door from which Layla had left, he turns to look at Harry who was looking at the door too.

"You are getting married" Alair said it as a statement to Harry, who looks back at him and nods.

"So you know about Knox?" Harry asked and Alair nods. "I met Layla through him and Marianne" he said and Harry looks at him with a frown.

"Why didn't you help her then? Why did you let her just tolerate Knox letting Marianne in again and again" Harry asked slightly upset with Alair, Harry likes Alair and Laylas pair.

"She hated me then, she wasn't comfortable with me around back then. But I love her from the day I first met her and it was years ago" Alair said.

Alair twirled the dock tag in his fingers as he waited for his friends.

A girl dashed past him and laughed out an apology when she banged into him. He looked at her and his eyes soften.

Alair nods at the beautiful girl who looks behind him, he turns to find Knox and Marianne with another guy walking to him and the girl.

"Alair meet my boyfriend Lewis and his sister Layla" Marianne said and Alair shakes Lewis's hand and turns to Layla.

He puts his hands in his pocket and nods when she waves at him. She is so beautiful, he thought as she smiled at him.

It had been a while since someone smiled at him woth such warmth.

They all sit and Alair groans as the injury on his ribs acts up. "Another fight Alair?"  Knox asked and Alair ignores him.

"You should take care of yourself Alair" Marianne said as she looked at him and he sighs but nods.

He had gotten another beating from his dad for not having any money to give him since he quit the part time job.

He had gotten involved with drugs just not for himself. He had to deliver another package soon. He hates his step dad, ever since his mom passed away he would take any money that Alair would have for alcohol and drugs.

Alair catches Laylas eyes who was staring at him. He raised an eyebrow at her and she whips her head away.

He chuckles. I'll make her mine someday and I'll be the only one to tease her like this, he thought to himself.

He hated that Knox would try to flirt with her but she wouldn't notice, or just ignored him.

"Layla has cried to me multiple times because of Knox, she looks happy now and I want it to stay that way. She helped me get Mira back and I don't want to see her get hurt anymore" Harry said and Alair frowns.
