Lucy's POV
Smooth leather sat in my hands, the weight of each page just as heavy as the memory within. It had only been a year since I had left the guild. A year since I lost people dearest to me. In that time, I had managed to finish my book, keeping my mind busy as to forget the hardships we've been through.
'Yo Lucy!' Nastu barged into my bedroom door, grinning from ear to ear. 'I found us a mission.'
Happy floated about above him, before moving to sit with Plue near the coffee table.
He stopped after a few steps, and his smile drops. I hadn't noticed the tears running down my face until he was in front of me, caressing my cheek.
'I wish they were here.' I began to sob. 'I still can't believe they're gone.'
Nasty pulls me in close, running his fingers through my hair as I cry. My tears stain his scarf, and I can't help but feel bad for making a mess of something so precious to him.
Happy sat, face fallen as he picks at his fur, Plue shaking beside him.
'You know,' Natsu began, a soft smile taking place of the concern, 'I think this mission might put a smile on your face.'
'I'm not in the mood.' I glare at him through my tears, but his smile just gets brighter.
Natsu holds up a piece of parchment paper, a job requesting the help of some mages to clear out a field of magic weeds that keep sprouting up in the town over.
'You think I want to spend a day gardening?' I look at the man, disgust clear on my face. It hasn't been a cool summer, and going on a mission with Natsu will only increase the temperature.
'But the reward might cheer you up.'
Down the bottom of the page, sat the words: Celestial spirit keys, two of a kind.
One key held a blue gem stone in the shape of a droplet, the length of the key seeming to be in the shape of a crashing wave. The other being almost see through, like a shard of ice catching a snow flake on the end.
'Let's see we're the stars take us.'
'Aye sir!'
