Third Persons POV
"We're not leaving you Gray!" Natsu yelled at the raven haired man, refusing to leave his side.

"You have to take Lucy away from here! There's only one way I know  the monster will stop for sure, and it doesn't involve you two!" Gray yelled. As the three bickered, the monster began its advance once more, though it didn't get far.

"Whatever you're planning to do," Mavis yelled as she exserted her  magic to keep the monster at bay, "do it soon!"

Lucy stood beside Gray, Natsu standing on the other as they placed their hands on their guild mates shoulders.

"Take our magic," Lucy whispered as she started to glow golden in colour. Although most of her magic was depleted, she still gave what little she could. Natsu began to glow red as he transferred his magic to Gray as well. Gray felt a serge of magic travel from his friends into him, feeling his magic grow stronger.

"Natsu, Lucy... you need to go," Gray smiled fondly at the two.

"We want to, we need to help." Lucy smiled, telling Gray that she intended to stay beside him and fall with him.

"It's not your responsibility, Lucy." Layla stood behind the three, her magic pulsing with power.

"Mum, I-" Lucy tried to speak to her mother, to get her to listen but she wouldn't.

"You and Natsu need to go." Before anything else was said, she pulled Lucy into a hug, whispering "This was never supposed to be you job, my baby girl."

Lucy felt her mother gently release her, pushing her back to let them see eye to eye before Layla turned to Natsu.

"You take care of her." With a smile, Lucy felt her body lift from the ground, turning to find Mavis holding both her and Natsu in her arms as she headed for the vanishing portal.

"Mum!" Lucy called after her mother, looking back one last time to see her mother begin to attack the monster, Grays magic beginning to flow from him. Lucy landed flat on the ground, turning back to look at the space where the portal once stood.

"No."

With Gray.

"Now Gray!" Layla yelled before Gray began to advance, his body beginning to turn to ice as he engulf to enemy. Layla watched his gaze travel to where Juvias constellation sat in the sky, before his body had fully vanished. Layla watched the monster freeze before her, a sad smile on her lips.

"I'm sorry," she whispered to Gray as she collected her remaining magic in her finger tips, borrowing slithers of magic from the world around her. She thrusted her hands toward the glacier that contained the monster, shattering the ice and the creature with it. Layla smiled, a wave of dizziness taking over as she fell to her side, staring at the mass of shattered ice that laid in what remains of the celestial world. She watched as small dots, splinters of ice, began to rise into the sky. She rolled onto her back to follow them, watching them make there way to Juvia.

Her eyes began to fill with tears as her smiled deepened, Juvias constellation shining brighter as Gray joined her, his arms wrapped around her. She watched the image of the two fade, their love forever incased in the stars.

"It's okay," Layla whispered as the world around her began to turn back to its usual state. "You're going to be fine."

Layla closed her eyes with a smile before fading, the stars captured in the back of her eyelids as she sunk into an internal sleep.

With Natsu and Lucy.

Natsu held Lucy close as she bellowed into his chest, her tears soaking his shirt. He bit back tears to look around him, Mavis and Zeref giving him a sad smile, standing hand in hand before they too, disappeared.

"Lucy..." he whispered as he pushed her away, tucking loose hairs behind her ear.

"They're, they're all gone!" She whimpered as she fell into Natsu once more, exhaustion washing over her.

"It's okay Lucy," he held her tight, "we're okay. Gray, Juvia, Layla... they're okay... they're happy." Natsu looked down at Lucy who managed enough strength to look up at him.

"How do you know?" She whispered. With a small sad smile he looked up to the stars, Lucy following his gaze.

"Because," he began, "they are smiling."
