Jungkook was surprised to see his mate in front of a restaurant while he was in car with jimin. But the next moment he was worried of the alpha, who was seemingly having an argument with the lady who followed him. He don't know who the lady was or what's their relationship. Atleast they weren't in good terms, he understood.

His curious eyes turned back to jimin when the alpha abruptly informed that he knows his mate.

"You know him?"

"Ofcourse i know him"

" really? "

" yeah, he is my princess fiance, you didn't know? "

And that's it. Everything was in utter silence after that. The alpha continued to babble things after that, but none of them reached the omega's ear. Instead his shaking mind was weaving many unclear pictures together. There is no way his mate would be engaged, but it was the truth.

He didn't give an explanation to jimjn when he abruptly ordered the alpha to stop the car and got out of it. He was in a hurry, he wanted to run, but where? He wanted to hold on someone, hide in their embrace, but who? The painful truth that he had literally no one squished the omega's heart in a tentacle grip.

And thats how he ended up in a public bathroom and locked himself inside in one of it. He didn't felt disgusted when he sank onto the floor, instead he was relieved. And while focusing on comforting himself, he lost the count of time. It's not he have someone waiting for him anyway.

He cried again and again when his stupid heart ached for his ruthless mate. He wanted to believe that Taehyung wasn't engaged, that Taehyung won't cheat him. But for how long he will pretend to be all right? Atleast now, with this revelation he should accept their truth. From now on, he should focus on what his brain says not his heart. Sometimes our heart needs more time to accept what our mind already knows.

And that's why he got surprised on seeing the alpha in his apartment, surprising that he didn't even noticed the alpha's car which was parked outside. Taehyung never loved him, or he just acted like he loved him. The alpha never wanted their relationship to be loud, that's why he never introduced him to any of his family or friends. He never took him on dates, joined him on any public events, even his visit to the apartment was rather secretive. Taehyung never wanted anyone to know about them and jungkook was so stupid to think that the alpha wanted space.

It was all about his alpha, his comfort, his life that he almost forgot about his own personal existence.

When jungkook pushed back the alpha and walked inside his apartment, he wasn't even listening to what Taehyung was saying. All he could hear was jimin's words that pierced his heart.

Even when he gulped down the water he felt nothing, nothing except numbness. Moreover the alpha's presence was killing him, his fake concerns and worry. He didn't wanted to look defeated in front of someone who played with jis heart but what he can do when he is still shaking from the cruel reality he had to face unexpectedly.

"Are you engaged Taehyung? " The omega asked his mate. From the way which it came out as sharp and loud, taehyung knows jungkook won't take some silly excuses as an answer.

And Taehyung paused, mind still unable to grasp on the truth that the omega was finally confronting him. A truth which he wanted to hide from jungkook as long as possible.

He looked at the jungkook's eyes which were boring onto him adamantly. His doe eyes were at the edge of spilling a lone tear and making the omega cry would be the last thing that taehyung wanted.

He shook his head, accepting the guilt.
" yes i am engaged "

Silence follwed the answer as both the mates tucked their head down, one in shame and one in pain.
