Chapter Ten | Three A.M.

+++ Recap:But as the plane shot down the runway and into the charcoal night sky, I realized a startling fact. In the short time that I've known him, I had already managed to fall head-over-heels in love with the blue-eyed idiot sitting beside me. And the worst bit? Charlie didn't feel the same way. +++

We had been on the plane for a little over two hours when the air conditioning suddenly began to blast, shooting out a jet of frigid air that seemed to be aimed right at my face.

"Do you feel that?" I asked Charlie, my lips quivering.

"What?" He pried his eyes from his laptop long enough to shoot a curious glance in my direction.

"The air! It's like negative fifty degrees in here."

"That's a bit of an over-exaggeration." He put his headphones back on before turning his attention back to the movie on his Macbook screen.

"So you're not cold? Like, at all?"

"Nope," He responded, adding to my steadily growing aggravation.

"Well fine then! I'm going to do something about it."

"See if I care."

I shot him a glare before stomping to the front of the plane. I finally managed to catch the attention of a young flight attendant and I smiled sweetly. "Hello, ma'am. I was wondering if it would be possible to set the temperature a bit higher in the cabin? I'm sitting up in front and —"

"Get back to your seat."

My eyes widened in surprise. "E-excuse me?"

She regarded me coolly, her eyes narrowing into slits. "Did you not see that the 'fasten seatbelt' sign came on? I'm going to have to ask you to get back to your seat or we're going to have a problem."

"Fine, whatever. But can you at least turn the air conditioning down a bit?"

"I said sit down!"

My mouth dropped in shock. What had gotten her panties in a twist? With reluctance I trudged back to my seat and sunk into the chair in defeat, a scowl on my face.

"I'm guessing that didn't go as you had planned," Charlie stated, a smile threatening to break across his lips.

"Shut up."

"Wow, harsh."
