"Beautiful Felicity! Now look to your left . . . No, your other left."

"You mean my right?"

"Yeah, sure. Let's go with that." I was momentarily blinded by the flash of a camera.

In all honesty, modelling was much more difficult than I had originally anticipated. I had always assumed it was just looking pretty while a photographer took your picture — which is essentially what it is, but it involves much more effort and thought. Your poses have to be perfect and look relaxed (which is pretty hard to master when everyone in the room is watching you with trained eagle eyes). You also need to pay attention to the lighting, the way clothes fit your body, and how you interact with the other models (which in my case was a very bored Charlie).

Flash. Flash. Flash.

"Charlie, give me moody. I need you to look moodier."

"What?" Charlie looked back at the photographer, confusion written over his features.

"Look mysterious, y'know? Give me attitude."

"This is stupid," Charlie grumbled, loud enough only for me to hear. I suppressed a giggle and the corner of his mouth twitched.

Flash. Flash. Flash

"Perfect. Now I need you guys to get closer . . . Wrap your arm around her or something. C'mon guys!" He exclaimed when we didn't make any effort to move. "Give me something to work with." Charlie inched toward me and gently slid his arm around my waist. I noticed a slight blush to his cheeks as I hesitantly moved closer, closing the gap between our bodies. The breath was caught in my throat and I suddenly felt dizzy — maybe I'm dehydrated?

"You guys are adorable," The photographer gushed. "How long have you two been dating?"

"Oh! We're actually not—"

"Three months today, actually," Charlie responded easily, cutting me off mid-sentence. To my utmost relief, Elizabeth wasn't there to hear Charlie's comment . . . What the heck was he thinking

"What was that about?" I whispered when the photographer left to adjust the lighting. My head was spinning and I noticed that even though the photographer had left we still hadn't moved from our close positions.

"What was what about?"

"You know . . . The whole 'we've been dating for three months, actually'." I tried to imitate his deep voice but failed miserably.

"I'm just protecting you."

"Protecting me? From who? I hope you realize how ridiculous that sounds, really."

"His assistant was eye-raping you the entire time! What was I supposed to do?"

"First of all, never say those two words again."

"What? You mean eye-rapi—"

I covered my ears with my hands, trying my best to block out the noise coming from his mouth. I only uncovered them when he held up his hands in mock surrender. "Are you quite finished?" He nodded slowly, a small smile on his lips. "His assistant was not checking me out," I insisted before letting my gaze wander over to the photographer's assistant, a cute (but slightly nerdy) guy with a mop of light brown hair and a Star Wars hoodie. Charlie was delusional.
