Damsel in distress

"Can you help me stand?" the girl asked while reaching for her cane.

"Sure. Miss, are you alright?" He helped the girl to stand and handed it to her.

"Thanks for helping me. Do you know where the bathroom is?" Roscoe waved his hands in front of her to check if she was indeed blind like his first guess, but the girl didn't even flinch a bit. He felt utterly ridiculous. He's a doctor for Pete's sake but the first thing he did was to wave his hand.

"Can I assist you, Miss?" he cautiously asked for her permission but to his intense shock, she put her hand around Roscoe's arm.

"You sure are kind, what's your name?" Even her voice sounds pure. For a moment he has the urge to keep her but not as one of his collections which was new amidst his psychotic tendencies.

"I'm Roscoe Roosevelt, you can call me Roscoe or maybe babe if you're comfier with that," he smoothly said and cringes at himself. She just giggled and continued to walk with his help.

"I'm Melloeine, by the way. My sister is a registered nurse here and I brought her lunch." He just noticed that she carries a basket with her.

"I see. Here we are, just take ten steps forward and turn left and you'll reach one of the cubicles." Roscoe opened the door for her and handed her the cane when they reached the comfort room for women.

"Thank you so much, Roscoe. Nice meeting you, I hope we'll meet again." She then waved her hands but in the wrong direction which made Roscoe chuckle a bit.

"Me too."He turned around after seeing her off the bathroom.

Roscoe couldn't stop his lips from smiling while remembering Melloeine's face. Her vibrant hair made her look like a goddess and her gray eyes are unique and made her face shine whenever she's smiling. Roscoe composed himself to stop thinking about the girl he just met and get back to business as usual.

__________

After the tiring management in his bar, Roscoe just walked home because some goons broke his car and stole the wheels. It doesn't surprise him anymore, these incidents happen often in the area near his bar. Roscoe is just wearing his polo and trousers. Tucking his coat around his arm, he hummed the lullaby just like every time he dismantle someone's body. He decided to just walk to the reason unbeknownst to him, maybe the aftershocks of meeting that girl still reel him to feel oddly energized after a day's hard work.

He stopped humming when he noticed a girl kneeling in front of an apartment while crying her heart out. He looked around to see the cause of this sight, but unfortunately, there was no one around. He came near the girl and squatted with her he then recognized her face and to his surprise, it is Melloeine.

"Why are you crying outside? Do you live near here?" he worriedly asked while kneeling to her level.

"Roscoe? Is that you?" Melloeine seemed to recognize his voice and reached for his hand.

"Here. Let me help you" Roscoe put his coat around Melloeine and helped her stand up."Care to tell me what happened?" Melloeine nodded and proceeds to tell him.

"My sister kicked me out of our house, she's angry because of what I did." She then cried again looking devastated.

"Hush down, do you have someplace to go or somewhere to stay the night?" It just triggered the poor girl to cry although silently but there are hints of sobs that came from her.

"No, I'm fine, I'll be alright." She wiped her tears and stood straight.

"No, it's not safe in here. If you want, you can stay at my place for tonight." Roscoe briefly explained that he lives alone and he's just concerned about her welfare. He hailed a cab realizing that his house is indeed far and they would take hours if they will just walk like his initial plan.

___________

"Here, have some tea." Roscoe brought a cup of tea to her room. Once settled, he made sure that she was comfortable in one of his vacant rooms.

"Thank you, I'm sorry to bother you this much," she apologized profusely.

"Don't mention it, I'm happy to help." He sat beside her and talked more before he head out and let Melloeine
get to sleep.

Roscoe's thoughts are hunting him in the middle of the night, he still can't figure out what's the best thing to do. After hours of deliberating with himself, Roscoe took a bath and proceed to his playroom, he experimented with his special liquids again for future purposes.

After doing what he has to do, he disinfects himself and proceeds to the kitchen to make breakfast for two. After minutes of cooking, Melloeine made herself to the kitchen with the guide of her cane.

"You must be hungry, sit down. What do you prefer? Coffee or Tea?" He made Melloeine sit on the chair across from where he is sitting.

"I would like to get some coffee, if it's not too much to ask." She is still shy to burden the man.

"Right away, Madam." She giggled and they chatted while having their breakfast. Roscoe gazed at her and he saw a glint of sadness in her eyes which made him think, 'should I play with her to make her feel good?'
