Chapter 2
“Excuse me,” I grunt as I push through yet another crowd of drunk, slutty girls. This is getting aggravating, trying to get through all these people. I just want to find Katie so we can get out of here, and go home. It's not like I can just leave without her, because she is staying over at my house tonight. As tempted as I am to just walk out of here and go to my house right next door, I have to find her. But I really don't want to bump into Alex again, I already made my dramatic exit, so I try to stay low.
My eyes skim over all the people in this giant house, and I finally spot Katie...and shes with Hank, and they're kissing...okay then. I want her to have her little moment with Hank, but then again, who knows how long they have been doing that. And I just really want to leave, if I haven't already made that clear.
“Hey,” I clear my throat as I approach Katie and Hank, and tap her on the shoulder, “Uh, Kate?” She finally peels her face from Hank, and he takes his hands off of her hips and backs up a little bit when he realizes it's me. Katie smiles, and wipes her mouth with the back of her hand. So he's that type of kisser...gross.
“Hey, Em!” She says all giddy, and dazed. She's drunk. Great. She wobbles a little bit, almost losing balance, but Hank catches her. She laughs, and hiccups at the same time.
“Thank you, sir. What a hero!” She giggles, and presses a kiss on his lips. He forces a smile, and looks up at me with a “help” look on his face.
I grab her wrist and pull her to my side, and lean in to whisper something to him, “Don't worry, she's my problem now.” He smiles, and mouths a “thank you”. I nod, and lead Katie towards the door. As were walking out, theres someone with a tray of water cups walking around, so I quickly grab one and hand it to Katie as we squeeze out the door.
“Here, drink this.” She takes it and chugs it down, and hiccups again.
“Why did y-you make me go? Me and Hank were having funn!” She whines like a baby. I sigh and rub my forehead.
“You're drunk, Kate. We need to go home.” I keep her steady as we walk across my perfect green lawn up to my massive door.
“You are NO FUN!” She yells, and opens the door to my house. She stumbles inside, and falls to the ground. I quickly shut the door behind me, and help her up.
“Good Lord Kate! How many drinks did you have?”
“A couple,”
“A couple thousand probably. Stay here, I'm gonna get you more water.” I say as I help her up and take her to our family room, and sit her on the couch.
“Okayy.” She mumbles.
I shake my head and walk into the kitchen to get her a big glass of water. If my parents catch us down here...or most importantly, Katie, being all drunk...I am so dead. They don't really like Katie to begin with, even though she is my best friend, so if they catch her here like this I bet she will never be allowed back here.
