Trust Taken and Given

Chapter 2: Family and Pain

When I arrived at school I noticed Toby was no where to be found. I just went to class hoping he was alright. He was usually never out and hardly ever sick. I was hoping I didn't make him upset. During class someone was talking about Toby. I couldn't quiet make out what they had said though.

After a few hours while going to my next class I felt like someone was watching me.

"Ashley." Someone was whispering my name. There was no one in the hall ways so I was confused. I looked back and saw someone looking from inside an empty classroom. It looked like Toby. I walked into the classroom and saw Toby.

"Toby what are you doing,why aren't you in class today?"

"Because I felt like somebody was going to say something bad about me and I'm tired of it." He looked so upset. I was thinking about what happened last night how when he was about to kiss me he stopped and just hugged me instead.

"Toby, it isn't because of last night right?" He shook his head and just stared at me. I hugged him hoping he was alright.

"How did you get in the school unnoticed?"

"I got in through the window it was slightly opened." I didn't feel like going back to class the rest of the day so me and Toby just stayed and talked in the empty classroom. Before school ended he left and I left with him. I walked home with him and I noticed my sisters car was gone. Toby went home and when I walked in my house I saw my mom crying while holding a note.

The note said:

Mom,I'm sorry that I left. I am safe though so don't worry. I will call you later,but I just couldn't bare to say goodbye. I'm with my boyfriend. Don't bother looking for anything in my room I took everything I wanted and needed. Tell Ashley I will miss here very much.

I wanted to cry,but I just couldn't let it out. I called Toby that night and told him everything. He sounded worried,but I told him everything would be ok. I didn't want him to worry about it.
