Journal Entry #24 Friday 2018
I blinked. I wasn't sure why Mom was so worked up. It's just a dance.. With food. And Boys. She started making this thing earlier yesterday called a Mum, that all girls wore the day Before.
I told you it wasn't supposed to be that night!
I shook my head as Mom seamed up the dress I would wear. " It's a very dark blue." I said. Mom put pins in the dress on the bed. "Isn't that what you wanted?"
I shrugged. "I guess. They didn't have the color I wanted." Mom shook her head. "You are not wearing a black dress." I scoffed.
"Fine.." I said in an exaggerated voice.
I was excited. I'd never been to a Hoco before. Actually, I'd never been to a school dance before, that wasn't a sock-hop or daddy daughter dance.
